@@DCVR-4js they said in a commentary i believe that testers got confused when they got the orange portal upgrade in certain areas of levels because it would be behind walls and they dont know if they placed an orange or blue portal yet or dont know which they should shoot

How do the parallax corrected cubemaps work? I've been trying to implement them into a hammer map for portal 1.

Hi! I’m not sure of the ins and outs of the technology itself (from what I can tell it’s assigning the sides of a cube map to a cuboid, rather than a sphere, and warping it depending on the position of the player), but the way you add them in p2ce, is by creating a brush around the volume you want the cube map to match up with if that makes sense, making that brush a “parallax_obb” entity, and assigning that brush entity to the cube map. As far as im aware, parallax corrected cube maps aren’t available in p1’s engine branch unfortunately. :)

Hi! The puzzle maker isn’t and won’t be in p2ce since the devs didn’t get source code access to that part. They did say that they have ideas for a completely remade puzzle maker, but it won’t be there on release :)

Hi! I think you should be able to, although I think I remember someone saying somewhere that the custom portal colours get overwritten after each new load of a map (which they don’t normally). :)

Hi! It’s a mod on steam which aims to improve portal 2 by expanding its modding and mapping capabilities, an improved workshop, and providing extensions to existing test elements. It’s also planned to be able to fully play through portal 1, and half life 2 inside p2ce, and to add a new scripting system which will allow much more flexibility. :)

Hi! You have to join the portal 2 community edition discord server (link in the description) and apply to be a beta tester. They're currently only looking for people who have experience modding/mapping for the source engine (e.g. through making maps with the Hammer editor), so if you do have experience with that, then you can apply and see if you're accepted! :)
