The key is to find brushes that feel comfortable in your hand and suit the type of strokes you enjoy making. I've been using these brushes for a long time, and even the logo and number on the brushes have worn off. I can still vaguely see it, and the smallest is probably a 00. The key is to find brushes that feel comfortable in your hand and suit the type of strokes you enjoy making. I've been using these brushes for a long time, and even the logo and number on the brushes have worn off. I can still vaguely see it, and the smallest is probably a 00.

Its my first time to use gouache colors When i tried to draw it was so dry like i couldn't move my brush smoothly the way you did , i wonder why?

From where do you pick the referance
The inspiration for this artwork actually comes from certain scenes in Studio Ghibli animations, like the sky and grasslands. I combined these elements and imagined a completely new composition. So, it's difficult for me to pinpoint a specific reference picture.

The gouache colour set get dry when we kept it close?
Yes, gouache paints can dry out if the container is not properly sealed. It's important to keep the container tightly closed when not in use to prevent the paint from drying out too quickly. If the paints do dry out, you can try adding a few drops of water to rehydrate them, but be careful not to add too much water, as it can affect the consistency of the paint.

beautiful! Always painful when pulling off the tap tears off some of the paper though... I know the feeling, always worry it will tear further across the page and ruin the painting

One tip I've learned recently to minimize tearing is to gently heat the tape with a hairdryer before removing it. Thank you so much! 🎨😊 Typically, a piece like this takes me around 2-3 hours to paint. When factoring in filming, the entire process usually takes about 5-6 hours.
How do you keep the Himi paint from drying out?

It's A5-sized, with a thickness of 100 gsm, I must admit that I don't highly recommend this particular sketchbook because the paper is quite thin and tends to wrinkle during painting.

If you're a beginner, I suggest using watercolor paper or a watercolor sketchbook, or even thicker paper that is easier to work with. I combined these elements and imagined a completely new composition. So, it's difficult for me to pinpoint a specific reference picture.
As for the brushes, I use brushes from an unknown brand. Actually, for beginners, the brand of tools is not the most important thing. It's more about finding brushes that work well for you.
