17 HOURS + NO SLEEP :: The Hopeless Rescue Challenge Complete Guide and Walkthrough (The Long Dark)

This is a complete walkthrough for the Hopeless Rescue Challenge in the The Long Dark. I will show you how to complete it in 17 hours or less without ever sleeping. I will show you where to find and when to use emergency stims, how to find and when to brew and drink coffee, and other essential tips and tricks. I will show you the path I take from Mystery Lake to Timberwolf Mountain, my strategy for ascending the peak, and how to get off the summit in a hurry. We navigate to Desolation Point in the shortest time possible and head for the lighthouse in pursuit of an excellent fast time! This challenge is easy to complete and hard to master!
In a previous version of this HRC guide, I help you get under 24 hours. It includes a multi-campfire technique for brewing coffee at the summit, and shows you where to find coffee, water, wood for fires, and tin cans. Other than simple efficiency, the fire on the mountain is the main difference between these two strategies, check it out if you need a less ambitious approach!

Hi, I'm glad you are back! I tried this challenge 100+ times and my best time is currently 17 hours. Please know that with the new updates I usually find a stim under the work bench in the dam, left to the entrance. Hope this helps!

And I know you probably get this a lot but I started my gaming channel because of you and another UA-camr named Fooster and I was wondering if you would like to view it and let me know what you think I could do better? It's really hard to get seen, it feels like the algorithm is out to squash all little starter channels. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. (I have lots of different games hope that's ok.)
