@pinchingloaf For sure. Very early, lightning blast felt lack luster but thanks to your filter within a couple levels it was pumping thanks to having the stats highlighted for me
Thanks for the guide, it was thorough and easy to follow. I swiitched over to this build after hitting a wall with my fireball/invocation build doing empowered monoliths. Going much better now and doing 200 corruption monoliths even without the Twisted heart.

I'd just like to add my 2 cents, and expand on the importance of Int in this build, I switched over, but was a little Int starved on my ported gear, and the build felt terrible, took ages to kill any bosses and kept getting killed, however I rejigged things around and got just 15 additional Int and now I'm flying, mainly because now I'm doing enough damage to leach back and increase Ward generation. Hi there, amazing build by the way. One question though..........why do you pick Word of Heorot for Runic Invocation? The chill chance only affects Frost Guard's pbaoe explosion right or are there any other interactions that I could have possibly missed out?
There is very little nodes on the RI tree that benefit us as we are using a defense Invocation. The explosion after the shield expires can still apply the chill but I will probably drop 2 points for extra ward when I do the updated video in a few days.
Good build, but a request for the build planner: Can we get the passive tree & skill progression in it? Its a bit easier to just move the slider as I level and get the points while looking at the build planner itself. Thanks in advance if you do decide to do it!

Love the build, thank you! Please can you let me know what the colours mean on dropped loot on your loot filter? Not sure I saw it anywhere. Many thanks!
If it drops like a normal rare(yellow with no underline) it means it has 2 good stats on it and may be an upgrade. If it is white with bold text and underlined it means its a common mod that is tier 5 and you want to use a rune of shatter to gain those mods for crafting. If its red with bold text and underlined it means its a rare mod and I would use a rune of removal to pull the rare mod off for crafting. Pink(T7) and Yellow(T6) bold and underlined is an ideal exalted modifier that is a good stat. Hope that helps!
Okay so I have been trying to get the "Mad Alchemists Ladle" and I keep finding the "Alchemists Ladle". So both of these items come from the same thing, mages in the rune prison, correct? Just trying to make sure I am farming the correct thing. The... similar item name with the same flavor text is throwing me off.
Very unlikely. It was nerfed way more than people like to admit and I feel Hydra to be very clunky to play. Maybe if I find a fun unique way to play it but I dont want to get your hopes up.
Just wondering when you said "all the enemies we attack are going to end up being chilled"... chilled from what? I can't seem to figure out what part of the build as is applies chill.
I am thinking about converting my HC runemaster over to this build, the only thing I saw that didnt seem necessary was the amount of negative ailments you take, specifically from blessings. If the cap is 8 I am not sure why we are sacrificng so many slots for ailments that dont benefit us.
Doesnt work sadly. All of the new unique Idols for mage specify it is for the runic invocations spells themselves and my runic invocation spell is a defensive one.
"So it ends up being like a 25% nerf [...] we're still getting over 100% more damage multiplier on here" (referring to the ladle) The mod reads "more spell damage per negative ailment on the target (up to 8)". Doesn't that mean the maximum benefit is 6 x 8 = 48% more damage?
Check out the last video I made. Any filter issues should be fixed there. Some of the filters created prior to 1.0 are a little buggy even if they got updated. I made a new one from scratch.
I've been running a variant of this myself relying on the double rune charge for runic to do the majority of my damage, currently at level 80 or so and obliterating everything :O I've been running the passive transcendence instead of runeword cataclysm. What are your thoughts on the difference?
Yeah that is definitely a viable option. There are so many good nodes with Runemaster I could not get everything I wanted. At the current moment I feel the defense are stronger than the offense that is why I went with cataclysm. Its a fair trade depending where you feel your character is at though.
Can I ask, what is the point of the health affixes on the gear? So far for me I am all about the ward and usually if something can get through that it's going to kill me anyway. Also am I missing something, on the ladle the max amount of ailments on a target that count toward our damage is 8 right? Anything more than that is overkill?
Twisted heart converts to ward based on your hp so stacking hp means significantly more ward per cast. Check out the update video regarding the stack cap. Hope that helps!
@@pinchingloaf Thanks! Also what are your thoughts on running the last steps of the living unique boots? Maybe I'm negating the twisted heart if I run that but currently I don't have the heart and it seems to be working well although im early in corruption.

Is there really a need for lightning blast ? sure it has a lot of damage but you miss out on teleport. i would definitely swap that out. Without a gap closer your speed farming is limited. For bossing i would use it, but for farming arena and monoliths teleport is a really nice positioning skill also. Still is one of the best build i have tried so far.

Playing my first character as a frostclaw runemaster, at level 57. Just started doing early monos. Can i try this build over mine? Any must item before i do?
Nope, no required items. I leveled as my build and now have it at almost 700 corruption. I would watch the second video I made on the build that goes over where to farm some of the uniques. They arent required to get going but they really take the build to the next level and allow you to push the corruption further.
I feel like that Doom Ring has to have a better alternative, It's giving 6% dmg because of the spoon but there has to be a better ring?? Maybe if you got an LP 2 or more on it so you could put some useful stats but just Doom and Int from LP1 seems like a lot of wasted potential?
how do you get that amount of ward? i have almost every items with more or less similar stats but i cant get pass 5k and i have to work realy hard for that 5k :(
It’s a bit harder now. I had a lot of exalted int gear in that video and good legendaries. They nerfed a lot of the places you could get ward retention in 1.0 as well as nerfed twisted heart. Currently in the 1.0 patch I’m getting like 9-11k on bosses but my gear still has lots of room for improvement.
Sorry to hear man! Sometimes I get it in a couple and sometimes its like 1 in 15. If you are in the Circle of Fortune faction, you can use the east prophecy to roll for unique offhand rewards. Try to look for easy completions like killing any boss or rare monsters. Hope that helps!
@@pinchingloaf oh no worries bro I was just wondering if I'm doing something wrong :( If I understood correctly I can use the rune of ascendancy to any catalyst right? Thanks!!
@@yopuhcak yes, any catalyst will work. Short answer is it goes off of the first 3 spells on my spell bar based on their element. If you go to the Runic Invocation time stamp on the video I go into great detail on how the mechanic works and how I simplify it so you can cast any ability and always get the Cold, Fire, Cold runes. @@mariuszsoja1907
Most of our scaling comes from stacking intelligence. We get some nodes on our tree and with gear that lets int give us %damage, cooldown reduction, crit chance, cast speed, and flat spell damage. We also get a few buffs from other skills that help out. I end up having 100% crit.
@@pinchingloaf thanks, also I was wondering, can the wall not be replaced with more damage potential? alternatively, some dmg nodes on the passive tree? Im just curious if the build can be pushed to higher damage at low defensive expense
@@deathlapse3384 the wall is an insane support ability that gives tons of damage and defenses. If I was to drop anything it would be runebolt. Last epoch is definitely more of a defense oriented game vs offense. Most arpg are the opposite where you try to one shot everything but that doesn’t work too well in high corruptions.
Only the broken node that gave you infinite flame wards now makes your wall a 12 second cd and share cd with flame ward. I knew that node would get a massive nerf so I made the build without using it.
I don’t feel like it is. Mainly just lightning blast and runic invocation to teleport. You can num lock flame ward to auto cast and use frost wall on tanky enemies.
By default Frostwall is not on a 12 second cooldown. There was a node in the Frostwall tree that everyone took prior to 1.0 that was extremely over powered and with the recent patch they made that node share a cooldown with Flameward as well as giving it a 12 second cooldown. I knew that node would get nerfed so I made this build without using it.
I do use a movement skill on this build. The version in the video turns Runic Invocation into a movement skill. My newer version that will have a video guide in a few days uses Flame Rush.
@@pinchingloaf yeah but its not really used for movement its used for damage reduction so never really off cd to dodge shit. also you play on sc or hc?
idk man, seems very unviable for lvling tbh... you put frost wall at lvl 20 specialization but once ur lvl 20 u will never have frost wall.. only comes at around lvl 30+ so its like 10+ lvls without going into that 3rd spell spec? Also where is teleport or any movement spells in this video ? so many things dont actually make sense for actual lvling from 1-100 tbh....
In the video I said I would recommend new players to use Dread's Runemaster leveling guide which is very close to this build so there would be very little changes needed at end game. I also linked his video in the video description. I leveled as my build however and it was one of the smoothest leveling experiences I have had. you start rotation - cold-fire-cold and than shoot lighting blast.... i do the same but if i shoot several lighting blast my rotation is gone. only lightin - lighting- lighting
what i do wrong ? thx
runic invocation.... Immutable order, should fix your problem, also he explains this in the video , cheers.
Why do you put points into traversal skills when you aren't using teleport with this build? Aren't those points just being wasted?
Rune of Dilation and Never late are the two I'm speaking of.
I turn runic invocation into a teleport and it gains the traversal tag.
@@pinchingloaf Is that from the gear? Or what causes it to become a teleport?
@@Doge123 its from a skill node on Runic invoc
Can this build be done with fireclaw or runebolt?
I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s much better playing self cast lightning blast.
Hi how you cleans aiment?
Frostwall. If you walk through it it cleanses all ailments off you.
@@pinchingloaf thx
I feel like that Doom Ring has to have a better alternative, It's giving 6% dmg because of the spoon but there has to be a better ring?? Maybe if you got an LP 2 or more on it so you could put some useful stats but just Doom and Int from LP1 seems like a lot of wasted potential?
Check out the day 1-2 update video. I change up the gearing a bit and it’s much more optimized.
is this lootfilter good if i am in the murchent guild and i want to trade and not only SSF?
Yes, it will work fine. I left it showing all exalted items so you can find some for other builds to trade.
do any of the rolls on the spoons really matter?
The only one I care about is armor shred. We cast so fast that the higher chance really adds up on big bosses.
how do you get that amount of ward? i have almost every items with more or less similar stats but i cant get pass 5k and i have to work realy hard for that 5k :(
It’s a bit harder now. I had a lot of exalted int gear in that video and good legendaries. They nerfed a lot of the places you could get ward retention in 1.0 as well as nerfed twisted heart. Currently in the 1.0 patch I’m getting like 9-11k on bosses but my gear still has lots of room for improvement.
can i use the lootfilter linked in the description for campaign?
Yes just wait to equip till like lv 15 so you can throw on some trash items.
Laugh in Palpatine :)
Unlimited power!
bro I've been using a lot of rune of ascendancy but can't get the enigma, any tips how to get it?
Sorry to hear man! Sometimes I get it in a couple and sometimes its like 1 in 15. If you are in the Circle of Fortune faction, you can use the east prophecy to roll for unique offhand rewards. Try to look for easy completions like killing any boss or rare monsters. Hope that helps!
@@pinchingloaf oh no worries bro I was just wondering if I'm doing something wrong :( If I understood correctly I can use the rune of ascendancy to any catalyst right? Thanks!!
@@yopuhcak yes, any catalyst will work. If you’re part of the cycle of fortune, you will want to make sure there is a little purple icon with a number on it right next to where it shows the required level. The level 2 CoF chance to not consume your runes only works if it’s a CoF item. You can guarantee that by gambling catalyst from the vendor in the observatory.
why your runic invocation doesn't change if you spam lightning?
what I mean is when you have rune invocation active you use lightning and the runic invocation does not change how do you do it?
Short answer is it goes off of the first 3 spells on my spell bar based on their element. If you go to the Runic Invocation time stamp on the video I go into great detail on how the mechanic works and how I simplify it so you can cast any ability and always get the Cold, Fire, Cold runes. @@mariuszsoja1907
where can I find information about stats, damage count, critical hit chance, etc?
@@mariuszsoja1907 on the character sheet. I can’t remember the default keybind I think it’s C or I
I mean yours
why no crit and lightning dmg in the passive tree tho, is it because you get it from the items?
@@pinchingloaf I understand, thank you. If you were to swap runebolt, what would you replace it with?
@@pinchingloaf also would you ever consider using arcane ascendance in this build somehow?
that 1 spell that sets the runes as skills in the bar sucks the fun out the class tbh im trying it rn but I might take it off
The frost wall has been nerf for 12 sec cool down ?? But in your video your wall doesn't have 12 cool down how ?? Explain pls
Only the broken node that gave you infinite flame wards now makes your wall a 12 second cd and share cd with flame ward. I knew that node would get a massive nerf so I made the build without using it.
Link on planner not working (
Looks like the planner website is down at the moment sadly. It should come back up in a little bit.
USES A LOT OF BUTTONS TO PLAY WITH THIS BUILD?
I don’t feel like it is. Mainly just lightning blast and runic invocation to teleport. You can num lock flame ward to auto cast and use frost wall on tanky enemies.
That's better than lightning version? Just lightning
Are you asking if my build is better than the standard lightning blast builds vs mine which is scaling spark charges?
@@pinchingloaf yeah, I changed from lightning to your build
how you leech back your lost hp?
I have the lightning leech nodes on the sorcerer tree and the spell leech blessing from the second monolith.
@@pinchingloaf thanks alot
how he use rune bolt?
It is automatically casting from Frostwall.
Frostwall is on a 12 sec cooldown
By default Frostwall is not on a 12 second cooldown. There was a node in the Frostwall tree that everyone took prior to 1.0 that was extremely over powered and with the recent patch they made that node share a cooldown with Flameward as well as giving it a 12 second cooldown. I knew that node would get nerfed so I made this build without using it.
you really dont use any mobility skill in hc?
I do use a movement skill on this build. The version in the video turns Runic Invocation into a movement skill. My newer version that will have a video guide in a few days uses Flame Rush.
@@pinchingloaf yeah but its not really used for movement its used for damage reduction so never really off cd to dodge shit. also you play on sc or hc?
Is this 1.0 gameplay? The mastery was super nerfed in 1.0
This footage was the day before the patch. I released an update video 2 days after 1.0 that is all on the live servers.
mad alchemist ladle has a cap now unfortunately, still worth it though
Yes it is, I will have an update out today regarding that.
21:15 OOF the discord ping
i have it :)
Did you figure it out? Sorry I’m live so it’s hard to view comments. If not drop by the stream and I’ll help you out
Who dis? Play a real mastery like Sorc! Hiding behind that cfc nonsense! ❤
Maomao! I miss you so much! When I started streaming again my wife asked about you haha.
frost wall got a heavy nerf gonna need a re work
Naw its fine. I didnt use the super broken nodes anyways because I knew the nerf was coming. Im in empowered monos and its super smooth.
Frost wall is carrying my ass through (non empowered) monoliths at mo, still seems good until LB/Sparks properly come online.
Mute your discord while recording. I thought Discord did it automatically when OBS starts.
Immutable order kind of seems like wasted potential
I only care about the one runic spell anyways so its very convient. Makes it much more approchable for newer players as well.
idk man, seems very unviable for lvling tbh... you put frost wall at lvl 20 specialization but once ur lvl 20 u will never have frost wall.. only comes at around lvl 30+ so its like 10+ lvls without going into that 3rd spell spec? Also where is teleport or any movement spells in this video ? so many things dont actually make sense for actual lvling from 1-100 tbh....
In the video I said I would recommend new players to use Dread's Runemaster leveling guide which is very close to this build so there would be very little changes needed at end game. I also linked his video in the video description. I leveled as my build however and it was one of the smoothest leveling experiences I have had. For leveling I use the base teleport without speccing into it until I get runic invocation which has a node in its skill tree called Enigma. This node turns it into a teleport.
First!
