heard this version by Jars of Clay last week on Sirius channel...Coffee House and needless to say...tremendous cover. Turned up to it's highest volume...powerful rendition...easy to see they have been honored with Grammy's.
My all time FAVORITE Christmas song. Just imagine...This little Drummer boy gets it. He has NOTHING to give OUR LORD...but gives HIM ALL he has...
this is breath taking!!! an excellent entrance, very good process to a brilliant climax, perfect arpeggios and one of the best backing vocals i ever heard. When knowing that the little drummer boy was never my favourite christmas song and now i cant stop listening to it is something really impressive. And guyz, don't forget.... that tis is a LIVE performance. What else can i say!!! amazing
A good spin on an old classic.

Greatest rendition of lil' drummer boy pumped TY Jars of Clay!!!! JK
I consider myself an atheist, but I really enjoy this song. It's touching.

@ByHisBlood62 - I don't think musicianship is a Spiritual Gift as they are listed in Scripture, but it is *definitely* a God-given gift to be able to write, sing and play good music :)
do you know if they have this on a Christmas album? We just saw them live last night with the Rock and Worship Road Show in Ft Wayne, In and they were outstanding!!! Loved how they did this song!
LYRICS:
Come, they told me pa-rum pum pum pum
Our newborn King to see, pa-rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring pa-rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King pa-rum pum pum pum
Rum pum pum pum. rum pum pum pum
So to honor Him pa-rum pum pum pum
When we come
Little Baby pa-rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa-rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring pa-rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give our King pa- rum pum pum pum
Rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum
Shall I play for you, pa-rum pum pum pum
on my drum?
Mary nodded pa-rum pum pum pum
The Ox and Lamb kept time pa-rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him pa-rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him pa -rum pum pum pum
Rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum

@sportskid327 ... kindda..!!
170(or more) people have lives thumbs up if you like so
Can be i? I've learned to play drums im church, an i'm 12 years old...
Wow, ironic...
It's a wonderful song, one of my favorites, also and I love Jars of Clay, but be realistic, folks. The drummers played snare drums, no one is going to play a snare drum for a one day old newborn. Little flute boy just wouldn't have sounded the same.....
I'm a pagan and personally don't believe anyone named Jesus ever even existed but I can still appreciate this song and it's beauty. This is the best version to me.
Smacky the First well Yeshua loves you
