Keith Green Jesus '77

Keith was an unknown CCM artist to the audience. There was a buzz going around prior to Keith's set that Andre Crouch would be appearing. People were anticipating this. When Keith came out they were visibly disappointed. They ignored Keith and many started leaving for the snacks and such. Keith sensed and began to lead them in worship. It was intense. I am not a Pentecostal or Charismatic Christian. This is as close as I came...dancing, jumping, worshiping God. the entire audience became one. The Holy Spirit simply poured out love. It was among the best musical experiences I've witnessed. After this, Keith would crusade about not worshiping musicians calling it idolatry. Later, that in January of 1978, he would have audiences on their knees in repentance. That was followed by his break with Christian merchandising and marketing his new album independently without a price tag attached. It was a move that angered a lot of people in the business. He was one-of-a-kind. What a time it was.
