Nice set of mods! You need to give us a 5 year update! 😁
I'm definitely going to look at widening the axle and front casters for more stability. I was concerned about floor space but you're absolutely right about the hoses taking up a lot more space on the sides. I'm definitely going to add additional hose hooks like you suggested. Those are WAY better than the factory hooks.
I've had the same cart since 2006. I put good 4" industrial casters on the front and 10" Harborfreight pneumatic steel center wheels on the back and mounted my Hypertherm 380 plasma on the bottom shelf and my Miller 211 (same generation as yours) on the top. With the new wheels It'll last at least another 15 years.
One other modification I made was to install receptacles and a short air hose quick connect to the middle shelf so I can plug both machines into the cart and only have to run one 20' power cable from the cart to the wall and I can quickly attach my retractable air hose reel to the air inlet on the cart.
I've added a "hand me down" Miller EconoTIG and a Hobart 235xl Stick welder mounted under my Facebook Marketplace sourced rolling 24"x36" fixture table. Keeps it all mobile and easily tucked away when not in use.

Just did the exact same to my HF cart after seeing your video. Works perfect for rolling on the lawn. Thanks for the great content!

Glad it worked! Sometimes I wish I had bigger wheels on the front now. How did you do your front wheels?

@@anesthesiadreamin I used the same front wheels that you have. If I pull it from the front on the lawn it seems to do fine. Or if I push it backwards allowing the rear wheels to lead it does ok. I literally got done 30mins ago. I’ll see how it does in the future . I’m happy

Funny I did the same thing I used taller lawnmower wheels on the back, put bigger casters on the front used a 2×4 across for the casters. Worked great as I don't have a garage and have to move it around my yard.

This is literally EXACTLY the position I'm in and what I need to do. Hilarious that I'm not the only one. Tomorrow I'm going to HF to buy this cart. I'm gonna unbox it in the parking lot and go back inside to buy bigger wheels and casters for it.

@@caseytodd7632 Depending on the wheels you buy you might have to change the shift or modify the one that comes with it. To tell you the truth if they had the $ 99 dollar cart back when l bought this one I would have went with that one, the lower profile would make it less top heavy, good luck and happy welding :)

Thanks for the great ideas, I hate dragging my welder cart around cause it rolls like a p.o.s. I am using your ideas for redoing the wheels, adding a 2 nd shelf, rebar for a grab handle. Those square plastic cat litter pails are great welding helmet storage containers, been using them for years.

Just finished up my cart, I moved the front wheels 6" past the bottom tray. Try looking for wider front wheels too.

I use my everlast welder and retrofit larger wheels on everything. Larger wheels make such a huge difference.

Good video. I see you have 3 carts.
Would you be able to make just one for off road. That's what I did. I wasn't happy with HF pneumatic wheels. They keep losing air.
I doubled up hard wheels for a broader stance. I'm happy with mine.
    Quick comment
You seemed to be caught up on measurements and money spent.
A couple inches and a couple dollars either way for an off road cart doesn't matter to me.
Again nice job, I know a lot of thought and experimentation went into it. 👍

Thanks for your comments, I've been lucky with my harbor freight wheels so far,but I do wish I had gone to a rigid wheel so I didn't have to worry about it going flat. I do like having 2 off-road carts, because sometimes I want the Mig and sometimes I want the stick welder somewhere outside, that way I don't have to move the tank as well. I wish I had gone with a bigger front wheel though, these small wheels seem to dig into the dirt pretty easily. I like your idea of doubling up on tires for a broader stance and more stability 👍

@@anesthesiadreamin Wow I see your point on 2 carts.
      I've never done both.
If you do have problems with the tires, I have used " fix a flat" with good results

3:39 I believe they're made from recycled latex products. 6:03 Don't forget to change your settings and technique for the higher altitude. 5:00 You shop at Harbor Freight, yet you still BUY tape measures? 10:45 The one thing that's bad about HF welding carts is they put an exposed locknut and bolt end in the center of the back lip of the top tray.

@@anesthesiadreamin What did you do with the rear top bolt? It seems like you did something because that spot is blacker, but I can't tell what from the video. I made handles for my HF carts using ½" EMT and a bender. I sprayed them with Black Stainless paint and they look just like the Eastwood cart. Came out very, very nice.
