  • The rainiest places in the world produce the rainforests of Olympic National Park. They are fantasylands of soft, green splendor within nearly a million acres of park and wilderness areas. The Hoh, The Quinault, The Bogachiel and the Queets rainforest valleys are home to many types of mosses and a large herd of Roosevelt Elk. You'll find many miles of trails, some of which are gateways to the interior wilderness areas. These are some of the best examples of temperate rainforest in the United States. Come along as I show you some of the highlights and scenery of these forests filled with Douglas Fir, Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock trees and the pounding falls and rivers that provide the water that make these areas thrive. For example, we followed the Hoh River out to the Pacific Ocean where I filmed a couple of sea lions at play. Our trip covered all three areas of the park: The Olympic Mountain Range, The Rainforests and the Coast line. I'll show you the town that was our home for a couple weeks, the centrally located Forks, Washington!
