    When I was 8 years old I had my communion and one of the teaching was; that our Lord Jesus Christ went to Haidi in soul the night of the Good Friday to save the prophets souls and take them to Heaven because our Heavenly Father have closed the gates of heaven and no one enter even prophets after the sins that overwhelmed the earth. Only by the blood of Jesus, our Heavenly Father have opened the gates of Heaven again. Lord Jesus by your precious blood You have saved the world. Forgive us our sins and help us to be worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven. 🙏 🙏 🙏

      I don't even believe that Jesus would immediately descent to hell straight after being crucified to, "run a victory lap", after being murdered by the evil of the earth.

    When we pray in Portuguese, we don't say "hell" (inferno)...............we say He descended to the "mansion of the dead" (mansão dos mortos). 🙏†

    He didn’t really descend into Gahenna, he went to “Sheol” or “the waiting place”. The translations to English are the same as “hell” hence why that is what is recited in prayer…

      i think we all go to hell and the next is the ultimate death! because god is the god of alives not the deaths...
      he offer you eternal life and if you dont want then you go to hell and even if you not want in hell then what is the opposite of him? if god the life itself then? yep it is the death! spiritually too

    I weep for how my sins continue to wound our
    L❤️rd & my fellow brothers & sisters. I weep for how truly very little I know & understand our L❤️rd. Because of this, I cannot make any substantial rebuttal commentary.

    A very illuminating video. Thank you. And, yes, to those voicing objections: God does indeed love the demons, and Satan too.
    Love simply means to will the good of the other. The most basic good you can will for someone is their existence. God wills the existence of Satan and the demons as creatures. He does not will their rebellion, of course. But again, He wills their existence as His creatures. Satan and the demons are sustained in existence by God's love, just like human beings and everything else in Creation.
    If God were to cease loving Satan and the demons, they would simply be annihilated and cease to exist entirely.

    Thank you, Father, for this wonderful explanation. It brought to mind something I read once that St. Therese of Liseux said, that she almost wished that she could go to hell when she died, so that there would be at least one soul there praising Jesus for all eternity. I think about that in terms of how Jesus "descended into hell", to show the victory of Jesus over sin and death.

    I teach RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) for people coming into the Church, and get asked this question all the time. I ask them if they've ever heard the term 7th heaven, or the highest heaven. The old belief by some is that there were layers to heaven. HEAVEN was the highest. The 7th heaven. The others were what we call stages of Purgatory. Depending on your sinful state when you died, determined at which layer you started the cleansing process
    The sin stain needed to be cleansed from your soul before entering Heaven. REV. 21:27.
    Purgatory was the lowest level and now considered the only level of the cleansing before you can get into Heaven. I don't know what happened to the other 6.

    It's my understanding that there is at least 2 maybe 3 words that translate to our English word "hell" the ONE that Jesus went to was Sheol, "The waiting place of the dead". He went there to judge ALL souls who had died from Adam through the current time, because the Gates of both heaven and "eternal hell" had not been open yet.
    He went there to do the job of judging souls.

    • @johnnylara7032
      @johnnylara7032 2 роки тому +2

      Question: Where does in the Bible said about Jesus "judging" ALL souls who had died from Adam through current time? Don't worry, I'm Catholic. It just that the "judging souls", in the dead, that I'm not sure. After His Resurrection, I believe Christ is coming soon to judge the living and the dead.

      The word purgatory, I admit, is frightening to me. However, I like to think of it as “Rehab”. Rehab is a popular word in our culture nowdays.. it is a a little less frightening to think of it as a place that if we have to go there, we believe that eventually we will get out .And I recently learned that the souls there although they cannot pray for themselves, they can and do pray for us. it is a beautiful teaching of the Church that we have a duty to pray for our relatives and friends but also for those who have nobody left on earth to remember them.🙏🌹❤️

    Thank you for your explanation. I also like an explanation by the early Church fathers on the East where they say that Christ didn't have to break the doors of Hell, but rather that those who were awaiting Hom sensing His presence, broke the doors from the inside. And then, whoever wanted to be saved by Jesus, had a chance. It is said that every being in Hell had a chance. Some took it. Some not.

    When thinking of this phrase, I often thought of it being more like Limbo, where the good souls gathered before the birth of Jesus. As Jesus had not as yet, been born as the Redeemer of the world, He had not then been Baptized by John The Baptist, hence Limbo was the place where the unbaptized would enter. I felt that Jesus upon His death, had visited this place, to take those souls to Heaven, as He was now the Savior of the world.....just a thought.

    I didn't understand the explanation but I only know that Nicaragua is living a real hell with the criminal ortega murillo regime and Christ hasn't come yet to redeem us. We have a criminal army as well as a criminal and corrupted police. They persecute, arrest and send people to jail or kill people just because of their disagreement with the criminal regime. We need Help from Heaven. We need Forgiveness and Redemption. Lord Jesus, have Mercy upon us!

    When the thief on the cross next to Jesus asked Jesus to remember him, and Jesus told him that he would be in Paradise with him that very day. Jesus was talking about that place in hell where there's no torture only darkness. That was paradise compared to the lower part of hell. That thief on the cross couldn't go to heaven yet since Jesus hadn't resurrected yet. Jesus and the thief met again in paradise aka sheol.

      Thank you but that isn't Church teaching. God is love itself, which means He can only love. He cannot hate any being he created or fail to love them in any way. Every single living thing was created by God, even Satan and his demons. God loves them or he would not have created them but they chose to turn away from his love. He cannot "not love" them or he wouldn't be God. He doesn't love what they do, he can even be angered and hate what they do, but he loves the beings he has created and always will. As we are supposed to do, love the sinner but hate the sin. God bless.

    In the book of Revelations, in the first chapter, John writes that Jesus says he holds the keys to gates of death and hell. My impression was that Jesus can lock a soul into hell awaiting the second death - or, he can release a soul that may have been initially condemned. I believe Mary said to the children of Fatima that souls are being lost because no one is praying or sacrificing for them. Since this cannot mean the souls in purgatory, this infers that it is possible to offer prayer and charity for a currently condemned soul and that soul might be removed from hell into salvation. I personally love the idea that we might be able to assist in "stealing" a soul away from the devil. Perhaps Jesus did descend into the hell of the damned to rescue some souls and to show the devil that He has power even over the devil's realm. Since the devil could not stop Jesus, or exercise any power over him when he stayed there for three days, it most likely irritated the hell out of the devil.

    • @livvydays8545
      @livvydays8545 2 роки тому

      A priest told me that Jesus goes to hell daily and takes souls out of hell. He said that Jesus says that he will not let the devil win over Gods mercy. I am not sure where he read this or how he came to believe it. Maybe in Saint Faustinas book? It's a thought that I had never heard before. I'm still processing that thought....

    • @DivineMercy_Official
      @DivineMercy_Official  2 роки тому +3

      Thank you but that is not a true statement. That is actually heresy since hell is eternal and once a soul is there it cannot be released. It is actually God's mercy because those are souls who do not want to be surrendering their will to God's will and do not want to be with him. Hell is chosen by the soul and once that choice is made it is eternal.

    The apostle's creed is not Biblical but specific to followers of Catholicism, Jesus did not descend into hell when he died on the cross, the bible clearly tells us that he said to the robber on the cross next to him "Today you will be with me in Paradise" Luke 23:43. That is not hell folks.

    Luke Chapter 16
    19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
    20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
    21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
    22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
    23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
    24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
    25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
    26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
    27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
    28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
    29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
    30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

    All are judged guilty until jesus. It is impossible (because of original sin) not to be judged guilty by the law (commandments) until jesus fulfills the law. There is no “just” or “unjust” hell. There is just hell. However, God loves and knows the heart; only a small fraction of souls will not be cleansed by hell fire and have to remain there for eternity.

The concept of Sheol from the Jews is similar to the concept of underworld in the Greek mythology. Sheol is the place of the dead whether they were good people on earth or not for the Jews do not have the concept of heaven. The reward for being good is achieved here on earth. For the Greeks, there is a god of the underworld, Hades. His realm is the place of the dead. Both Sheol and Hades are located under the earth. The statement of the Apostles creed as ‘Jesus descended into hell’ is he went down to the dead for 3 reasons: 1. He went to the underworld in order to prove that he truly died on the cross to save us. 2. Theologically, in order that he be the Lord of both the living and the dead. 3. And to bring those good people who died before him to heaven. He is not just Immanuel for the living, but also for the dead. The translation of the dead to English is the culprit.

    Why do we never praise the God who gave us eternal life? God the father could not give us life after death so he had his his son, Jesus sacrificed to a God who was allowed to feed on the agony and suffering of a divine being (much more delicious than a mere mortal) and for this he gave Christians immortality. Why do we never talk about this God, so much more powerful than God the father, but yes a monster. But without this God we would cease to exist upon our death. Yes the God's of human sacrifice are morally corrupt but our God acknowledges their superior power and should we not talk openly about these creatures that God has declared his overlords.

    Part 2
    From both the Bible and scholastic studies of the last half century, it is clear that baptism for the dead was practiced by the early Christians.2 Is it any wonder, then, that when it came time for the Lord Jesus Christ to restore to earth in the latter days his gospel in its purity and power, he would restore the truths concerning salvation for the dead?3 With such truths restored, the Lord also restored the power and authority of his priesthood. Why? So that the ordinances performed, both for the living and the dead, would be valid and binding before God.
    Prior to his departure from mortality, the Lord gave priesthood power to Peter, the chief Apostle, so that he and others to whom he delegated that power could perform baptisms and the other ordinances vital to man’s salvation. To Peter the Lord promised, “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matt. 16:19).
    These same priesthood keys were restored in the last days of this dispensation. T he Lord clarified the conditions that exist after we leave mortality: “And verily I say unto you, that the conditions … are these: All covenants, contracts, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections, associations, or expectations, that are not made and entered into and sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, of him who is anointed … (and I have appointed unto my servant Joseph to hold this power in the last days … ), are of no efficacy, virtue, or force in and after the resurrection from the dead; for all contracts that are not made unto this end have an end when men are dead.
    “Behold, mine house is a house of order” (D&C 132:7-8**).
    Thus, with his priesthood power to seal ordinances on earth and have them binding in heaven, the Lord has extended gospel blessings to the deceased of all mankind. The same ordinances performed for the living can be offered in proxy by someone standing in for the deceased! Not only baptism, but also the covenants and blessings of the endowment and of eternal marriage are made available to all those who could not receive them in this life.
    Each day, thousands of Latter-day Saints enter temples of the Lord and perform these ordinances in behalf of their fathers and mothers, grandfathers and grandmothers-as far back as known records can disclose names and identities of real individuals. These persons-dead to us, but very much alive in the spirit world-are, as the Master said, awaiting the “good tidings” that their work has been performed so that they may receive liberty from the “prison” wherein they “are bound.” When these ordinances are performed on their behalf, they are able to keep to a greater degree the commandments of the Lord and continue their growth and progression.
    Clearly, however, no earthly activity interferes in any way with the right of choice exercised by persons in the spirit world. They are free to accept or reject the ministrations in their behalf. If they choose to accept the ordinances performed for them, exercise faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and repent, they are released from their spiritual bondage. If they choose not to accept those conditions, they remain in their spiritual bondage. Their right to choose remains inviolate. Agency is an eternal inheritance we each have from God our Father, and it is fundamental to our personal development. The Lord’s work goes on in the spirit world as it goes on here in mortality, in that all mankind are graciously invited, not forced, to receive the fulness of the gospel and to use it to ennoble their lives.
    These truths concerning salvation for the dead are so important that they were among the first principles taught to the Prophet Joseph Smith at the opening of this dispensation. On 21 September 1823, only three years after he was first visited by the Father and the Son and four years before he would receive the plates of the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith was visited by the angel Moroni. The angelic instructor said that the time would soon come when Malachi’s Old Testament prophecy would be fulfilled wherein the “hearts of the children”-we, the posterity of our forebears-shall turn “to their fathers”-our ancestors (see Mal. 4:6). Four times Moroni repeated Malachi’s prophecy that Elijah the prophet would be sent by the Lord to reveal the authority and knowledge necessary for this work to begin.
    It is the solemn witness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints that Elijah the prophet did come as was both anciently and modernly foretold. While the world went about its normal activities on 3 April 1836, Elijah the prophet appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in the newly dedicated temple in Kirtland, Ohio, and gave them the authority to reinstate baptism for the dead as well as all other ordinances necessary for the salvation of the dead. “Therefore,” said Elijah, “the keys of this dispensation are committed into your hands” (D&C 110:16**).
    Since that day in 1836, the Latter-day Saints have built temples throughout the world in which the ordinances of the gospel can be performed for our forebears. To facilitate their search for the identities of their progenitors, Latter-day Saints have also established genealogical libraries and other aids to family history research that are used worldwide.
    Stirring witness of salvation for the dead was also given to a subsequent latter-day prophet in 1918. President Joseph F. Smith recorded a vision he received on October 3 as he read and pondered 1 Peter 3:8-20 and 1 Peter 4:6 [1 Pet. 3:8-20; 1 Pet. 4:6] wherein the Apostle Peter discusses the Lord Jesus Christ’s visit to the spirit world after his crucifixion:
    “As I pondered over these things which were written, the eyes of my understanding were opened, and the Spirit of the Lord rested upon me, and I saw the hosts of the dead, both great and small.
    “And there were gathered together in one place an innumerable company of the spirits of the just. …
    “While this vast multitude waited and conversed, rejoicing in the hour of their deliverance from the chains of death, the Son of God appeared, declaring liberty to the captives who had been faithful;
    “And there he preached to them the everlasting gospel, the doctrine of the resurrection and the redemption of mankind from the fall, and from individual sins on conditions of repentance. …
    “I perceived that the Lord went not in person among the wicked and the disobedient who had rejected the truth, to teach them;
    “But behold, from among the righteous, he organized his forces and appointed messengers, clothed with power and authority, and commissioned them to go forth and carry the light of the gospel to them that were in darkness, even to all the spirits of men.
    “Thus was the gospel preached to those who had died in their sins, without a knowledge of the truth, or in transgression, having rejected the prophets.
    “These were taught faith in God, repentance from sin, vicarious baptism for the remission of sins, the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands,
    “And all other principles of the gospel that were necessary for them to know in order to qualify themselves. …
    “I beheld that the faithful elders of this dispensation, when they depart from mortal life, continue their labors in the preaching of the gospel of repentance and redemption, through the sacrifice of the Only Begotten Son of God, among those who are in darkness and under the bondage of sin in the great world of the spirits of the dead.
    “The dead who repent will be redeemed, through obedience to the ordinances of the house of God” (D&C 138:11-12, 18-19, 29-30, 32-34, 57-58). See part 3 below.

    Oh my goodness. All these words. Hell. Dead. Place. Levels. Those who died before Christ, were under the law of Moses. They were in a perpetual state of the dead. They were NOT in hell, and Jesus did NOT descend into hell of any sort. He descended to the DEAD. He went and released them from their bondage of "waiting" to be redeemed by the blood of Almighty God's wonderful Son, his saving blood "redeemed" them. Jesus descended to the dead. "He descended to the dead, and on that third day He arose again" according to the scriptures. Plain and simple. All these words....why why WHY....all it does is confuse people. JESUS DESCENDED TO THE DEAD, AND ON THAT THIRD DAY HE ROSE AGAIN! That's it. Just say that.
