This is Dan's best performance of this song! He nails that part @3:44. He even does it in the original key, which is in a higher range than his usual. Kudos!
@metalloulou Unfortunately he messed up the key on the first chorus. But yes, he absolutely killed the outro. I don’t even think Ashe ever hit the outro as clean live.

It's not the best but it's almost there. I know I've heard another live video where he does some insane vibratos on the outro and a quite different variation of the second "yeah" that's yodeled at the end.

It was a very old video, one of the first performances with Dan after his return, so the quality isn't the greatest but it's definitely hearable.
This is an especially incredible performance considering the cold. Do you understand just how truly DIFFICULT it is to sing in the cold? And [there] they're not wearing gloves, not even fingerless ones? Bonkers good!

@Jay J As of now? Yes. In the past though?? He used to kill it. Something is going on with his voice, I don't hear him with the same power and energy, as if he aged or something.

Agreed. Dan is awesome. But Ashe is equally awesome. And Dan is missing that something special that came with writing this song. Nothing for or against either of them, Ashe just does it better. I am sure Ashe can't really do Dan's stuff either.
hardcoreinpa here’s my best analysis of the both of them.
Ashe was great in studio but ONLY in studio. Why? They layered his voice so much and used so much pitch correction it’s not even funny. He couldn’t pull off his own stuff live which is pretty....well..pathetic.
He also cannot pull off any of Dan’s material. Where as dan can do a decent enough job to pull through.
Dan is great both in the studio and live. He’s got his bad moments but it’s Usually due to illness. Such as the most recent tour where he had laryngitis. Dan overall is more experienced and well rounded. He knows what he can and can’t do and that’s why he uses falsetto or goes lower on some of ashes parts. Ashe on the other hand just did what sounded cool without any thought of “can I pull this off live?”
(And no I’m not a dan fanboy I was introduced to the band when Ashe was In it)
You know what they say about opinions. I wasn't trying to make this a Coke vs Pepsi argument. Both singers have pros and cons.
I remember when I heard Nocturne for the first time. Absolutely blew me away. Every time I hear Dan sing it, a part of me dies. True story.
