This is the finest interview of John Gray ever. Clear sharp questions. Helping John reply with sharp quips and analyses. I've heard hours of Gray apart from reading almost all of his books written in his post-academic career. Kudos!
This is one of the best interviews with Gray I have heard and like you I have read almost all his books and articles and heard almost everything findable online. Bravo. Way to corner him on a few questions.
Totally enchanted by John Gray. I discovered him thanks to my infatuation with cats, but then plunged into his philosophical writings. What a great thinker and an amazing human being! A true beacon for every thinking individual!
I can't stop listening to John Gray after he was interviewed by Sam Harris (who I remain a partial fan of). Gray's conception of atheism is rather more nuanced and intriguing.
One of the best interviews with John Gray that I've heard. He seemed surprised; I wonder if he's aware that you've published with Parfit. That said, not enough talk about the book itself.
Listening again. John is so funny. "History is pointless" he says happily drinking his cappuccino in the cafe in Bath. The sun shining down. The young women on their way to lectures."well I have a lecture to give at the literary society and a dinner engagement." Later in the interview, "Athens and Jerusalem can't be reconciled." Says the former Chair of European Thought at the London School of Economics. :) 😂😂😂 (I think I have centered the locus of the absurdity). God Bless. ❤
@@Mark-zr8nr I have read and listened to a lot of his stuff. A good place to start is the news article from the Independent newspaper titled, "John Gray: Forget everything you know", by Will Self, from September 3, 2002. It is a good biographical sketch that holds today.
Your questions are no doubt well considered but wouldn’t the interview have been more interesting if you had reacted naturally to John Grays comments ? Maybe a mix of the two would’ve been more effective and perhaps two separate interviews would also have worked - it’s just that otherwise you sound a bit robotic - good stuff though anyway thank you mate
This man is clearly intelligent without being pretentious. A joy to listen to
My favourite philosopher and writer on current events.

Hope he does publish that book of aphorisms!
Must be the best least listened to thing on UA-cam!

What’s this from?
@Mark-zr8nr it's his biography. Or a sketch of it from known public information about him.
@@trouble820 where can I find that?
@@trouble820 like is it a book or on UA-cam?
