I've been using zoom for a couple of years and I think it's far more user-friendly and teaching-friendly than a lot of others. The only downside (which isn't zoom's fault) is that it can be very difficult, although not impossible, for students to use the interactive stuff if they're using a tablet.

On your screen share, I saw a lot of other windows and applications where You just click and share right away easily. I had a hard time even putting 2 UA-cam videos on 2 different squares. I know you said that open the website first before the zoom. How did you have so many opened without problems? Please advice as I struggle sharing. One time my laptop freeze on me while teaching.
Hi Victoria. Each window that is opened, including a browser window showing UA-cam, should appear as a option to share. Enable computer sound for videos. Maybe just open those windows you want to share and no more. Too many open windows *might* make things freeze for you, but that would depend on CPU (processing ability on your laptop). The second idea I suggested is making use of the IWB software that normally comes with the book you are using. In the third part I am using the IWB software that is provided by Zoom.

That is strange. I didn't realise that happens. Surely if you just pause the video when you are screen sharing, they can hear you. I am sure that I do that very often.

If students are using a Chromebook (or the likes), they cannot write on a Zoom-shared screen. Chromebooks, etc. don't allow for participants to "annotate".
Selina, is that so? I didn't realise that. Are you sure about that? I don't have a chromebook. Normally you set up the option to annotate in the settings or when you are screen sharing and I would have thought it was a browser issue, not a Chromebook issue. @@ttvRussell It's not a browser issue, it's a Chromebook limitation. Most of my Ss have Chromebooks or a Dell version. The tab or option to access "annotate" is simply NOT available on a Zoom session on a non-host's screen. The host can annotate, participants w. Chrome-type-book cannot annotate. Period.
Hi there, Labsitters srls. Zoom does have an in-built whiteboard feature, as well as an annotate toolbar. You could use a virtual whiteboard in another program and share your screen, taking screenshots in order to save work, as one idea. Russell.
The Interactive whiteboard is a feature within Zoom. When you share your screen, the option usually appears as the second window, after the (whole) 'screen' option.

Hi Doan. Typing and Annotations only work when screen sharing is enabled for all participants, which can be done in settings before the meeting or during it. Once you or they start to screen share, then the main remote controls go to the person in charge of sharing their screen. But anyone else should be able to annotate, draw or type text. What IWB are you using , Russell? I'm not sure if it's ActivInspire?
