What wonderful memories of days gone by. Sunday afternoons after church and chicken dinner...the music would play across the back yards of our South Side neigborhood. Our family was so happy and proud of our Polish heritage.
I'm originally from the south side too - I miss the it was in 1960. Now gangs of illegals aliens run around Brighton Park and McKinley Park with AK-47's, and South Shore, where doctors and lawyers and millionaires used to live, is almost a free fire zone.
Yes, gulumpies, an an home made hollasta' cookie's, pad Oggi's an saugebread . Apple fritter s . Just to name a few . Oh the fond memories of the good old fashioned polish polka party's , family their friends. What more could anyone ask for . Laughter and smiles all the time . Dancing an just a great old time . As years past, no one has these party's an family is so involved an spread out now . To be able to have enjoyed it all , Seems like a dream that I can't live it today . But finding music on the phone has put me in memory lane . How beautiful but kinda sad at the same time. Have a great an polish day 😊
Me too every Sunday mom sister an grandparents . On I believe the am station wqtr am fm radio. A polish guy would come on about 8 in the morning talk a bit an play the best . . Us kids were lucky cause most of these songs would come on an as little as we were it was music to our ears . An little Wally . An others . I've tried to get the radio station back but to my disappointment have not been able to . Luckily I found polish music once again on the stupid cell phone , but lucky.
I was only 5 years old in 1977 but I remember those polyester outfits LOL. I swear I recognize from my childhood one of these old ladies with the beehive type hairdo and glasses from dances at Sacred Heart in New Britain, CT. I would love to hear some of this Polish Polka music today...even the so-called Polish National Home in Hartford plays regular 'mainstream' music! Can you believe it; WTF is with that? My 80yr old father says that is what the people used to go there for!!! The younger folks today don't even know what they're missing. I hook my phone up to an amp and speaker in the backyard and crank this on a nice summer day like the Puerto Ricans blast their music!
HEY TODD YOUR WRIGHT GREAT MUSIC.. I WAS BORN AT GENERAL HOSPITAL IN NEW BRITAIN 1972 REMEMBER MY PARENTS BRINGING ME AND MY BROTHER TO ALL THE POLISH DANCES WHEN WE WERE KIDS GREAT TIMES
I love watching this. It make me happy. There is a lot of energy in the dance floor even from the older people. Reminds me of all the summer festivals in central Minnesota when I was growing up.
So much better live than on records or CD's! I dedicate this to all the guys who worked at Hub Electric company: John Jedraczek, Stanley Majewski, Joe Sinkiewicz, and Mr. Boyko.
Thanks so much for posting this wonderful video. Oh, if only we could go back to those good old days! Everyone was having such a great time! Awesome medley by Lush.
Reminds me of the 70’s and 80’s at Ocean Beach Park, New London CT for Dick Pillar’s “Polkabration”! ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Those were the best times. Went every summer with my grandparents. Between the dancing, amusement park and miniature golf, there was so much to do.
What on earth earth happened between 77 and now? It would be nice to see people doing this again
I think if more people danced a polka every now and again . The world may be a better place.
And be in better shape.

And also a lot skinnier!! That’s almost 20 minutes of high impact dancing!
I remember being there in 1977 with my dad who was bombed most of the time but I wouldn’t trade my memory’s for nothing
