The video was released by the Russian ministry of defense and demonstrates a well conducted special forces raid training mission.

I remember playing OpFor during military exercises. Special forces would rush in and attempt to clear us out of a small village too.
All I can say is: if things were to go according to real life, they would be taking 30-40+ casualties per raid, if not having the entire platoon (250+) wiped out completely.
Every time they entered, we would shoot at them, and they would act like they were invincible, whereas we were instructed to act stupid and lay dead, even in the most unlikely scenarios of that being the case.
Clean sweep operations rarely happen. In almost every operation, the attacking team will take a considerable amount of casualties. Especially if equally matched in terms of military capabilities.

Well thats why they dont. Air support, drones, night raids, flashbangs and smoke. Its not for show, its 90% of the work and its why western militaries reign supreme. Cant fight you if they are blinded by flashbangs or blown up by a ac130 first, this scenario is very unlikely unless its a literal world war or something so resources are short
@@sakariaskarlsson634 Western militaries reign supreme because of better logistics afforded to them by more spending and their own situations. Eastern countries have drones, air support and night vision as well.
Flashbangs and smoke are incredibly basic tech, flashbangs being a nonlethal variant of the obscure weapons system known as "a grenade". Eastern powers mainly flounder in logistics, the ability to use their tech to its full effect. That and maybe some qualitative differences in weapon systems.

Yeah i dont really see how this exercise is really helping anyone training, its only really spectacular for show but there’s no real way to see whether anyone hit anyone or was even aiming in their direction. They just aim and walk forward and the enemy is expected to just flop over whenever they want. What good is this doing to anyone?

I love how at 1:01 the solider shoots the dead/wounded guy to insure he is dead. Believe it or not this is how even the US Military trains. When assaulting an objective, you don't want a wounded enemy to manage to shoot a friendly, toss a grenade or anything like that so you shoot every fallen enemy to insure they are down. It isn't until after the objective has been secured that shooting fallen enemies dead or wounded becomes a war crime.

It literally IS action theater. You can't really call it "training" since I don't think anyone learned anything from this (maybe apart from the guy at 0:56 - he learned not to commit too much if in the future he wants to avoid neck pains). This was purely an entertainment spectacle organized for the Russian and Uzbek generals. And to be fair, we do that in the west too. Whenever a bunch of generals or VIPs are scheduled to observe training or exercises there's a script, rehearsals, special effects and so on. Once the show's over and the generals leave it's back to running 10km up the hill for no reason.
