Is this the rustiest car in the world? It was advertised as a restoration project.

- This must be the Rustiest Austin in the world. Brought it as a parts car. It broke in half when unloading it. Still has the 803 engine and gearbox in it.However it has been sitting in a farmers field for ever and a day. Its a shame but the scrap man will have to collect it.
I watched all the way through waiting for the restored photos 😊
You might be in for a long wait. I thought every car could be restored..........how wrong could I be?
All this car needs is TLC. That stands for transmission, lights and chassis! 😂😂

If it was left in the farmers field any longer it would have been compost.Have made another video with some of the parts I managed to take off, there wasnt much. The biggest surprise is when I took off the rocker cover and the valves etc were covered in oil. I might try and see if the engine will turn, unable to check the oil as it the dip stick is rusted in. Think you might be correct. When I purchased the car for parts the owner stated that it may need a reshell, thats an understatement. However did manage to get a few parts off. Just waiting for the scrap man to collect it.......Thanks for your comments ...all the best...Lee

That’s one of the early Austin a30s. That one is one of the last of the As3 models. This car would be from mid 1953. Iv had two of these, and early and later As3. Very different to the later a30s that followed it. I’d certainly be interested to know it’s chassis no fit my own records of these.
The chassis no has been cut out, no sun visor............no reg no...........

It’s not rusty it’s a limited edition with lightweight ferrous oxide body work, admittedly the newness is starting to wear off 😜👍🏻🇬🇧

Didnt think it was that bad untill it was loaded onto my drive. The advert stated it was a resto project!!!!!!!!! only brought it for some parts.................what a heap of rust....

It was left in the field for to long, farmer recons that it must be 10 to 15 years at least...

We used to call the A30/A35 the Austin peanut when I was a kid 👍🏻🇬🇧
The main reason for picking this car for my retirement project was I can remember my uncle had one and he called it the peanut.It had an orange stripe over it and my uncle convinced me that it made the car go faster.........
I only have 2 questions:
1. How much did they pay you to take it.
2. Why would you want, there isn't a usable piece on the whole car!
There was a lot of trim,bits, and indicator arms that I took off before the video, got my money back with the scrap.
Actually a lot of unique to the As3 are still present.. fuel tank, dashboard instruments, ashtray, door trim, seat frames, grill and badging, engine and gearbox Inc rad, steering wheel and lighting switch. Body is too far gone but stiff like that fit those is hard to find now
I did remove as much as I could just in case anyone needs bits and bobs...........All the best ...Lee

Apart from that its all good................
Two of my cars were as bad or worse, and another was much worse, let someone else have it if only for parts.
It will be offered to the owners club before it goes............
nope coldwater motors is working on worse, dd speedshop is working on worse, and bad chads working on worse.
