Great sound design / selection - then just when i didn't think his could get better @3:08 ;0) Vastly underrated gear, its built in tracks doesn't do it justice.

I wanted to send you a PM but you don't have your "about me" enabled. I was just wondering about how you liked your E2 for doing live performances like in your videos? If you could have anything else instead would you? I have tons of stuff, but always make music the slow, painstaking way: In a DAW surrounded by synths. I'm looking for something quick to perform on stage with. I want to play out and record all the parts while up there and then bring them in and out, tweak them etc. Yours is one of the only videos Ive seen of someone actually doing it in a way that's easy for the audience to comprehend what's going on. If they can't comprehend it, might as well just hit play on a sequencer. I was leaning towards Ableton Live and Push before your video. I don't really need or want to deal with all that, plus as a non push user I watch people play it and they could just be hitting random stuff, it doesnt really compute ya know?
I would love for you to tell me what you like and don't like about the E2 if you don't mind. I will gladly answer any mixing or mastering questions you may have if you want to know. That's what I do for a living. BTW great work on the tunes.

Man, that's a question! ;--)) Thanks a lot for this.
Well, the cons of E2 are at the same time it's pros. The main problem of the music nowadays it that in the computer we have everything and possibly could do everything, but... we have to choose what to do with what tools and it takes all the time. I have Push2 and when I start to do something with it, after a few hours I find myself still searching for sounds instead of actually playing music. But WTF? I want to play music and have fun. And suddenly I understood that the less options you have, the better. When you have three knobs and three buttons you have no choice but to be creative to create something interesting.
With E2 and it's limited polyphony, controls and sounds I move forward much faster. Of course, all tracks begin with a prep stage when I create the beat and craft the main sounds, but after that I delete all recorded notes and learn to play it live from scratch and decide how to shape the track. And that's really the fun part, because when you play live, you mess up and sometimes your mistakes lead to new directions. In this track for example the pitch down idea of the melody went from turning the pitch knob instead of the filter cut. :-)))
I must say that now with this vision I could do the same with Push2 easily, but I would have to do much more prep to make Ableton feel more like a groovebox than a DIY sandbox. Create template Macros, limit myself to 8 tracks to fit one screen, probably even write something with Max, etc, etc, while on E2 everything is there ready for music making.
      What I don't like about the E2?
I'm pretty much happy, but I wish it had:
A possibity to load user samples.
More polyphony. Especially it drives me mad, when you play a new part and it shifts a random already recorded part in time.
Some indicator of current master effect settings, because now you have no idea.
      Adjusted sends to master effect.
Ability to send a click to headphones only.
And thanks again for the comment!

best live performance I have found anywhere on youtube yet. Are you happy with the kick drum sounds? Always seem a little flat to me. Great tune anyways!

It was recorded straight into audio card input and after that I did a little bit of mastering to raise volume. It was Waves L2 and probably Waves SSL Bus comp.
