I'm making my daughter's wedding jewelry. Your weaves and coils have given me suck cool ideas. Thank you 😊 please keep sharing your beautiful pieces TJ
Thank you as always! I'm always so appreciative of your kindness and showing us some of your techniques! I dont know why I never thought of weaving square and incorporating half round into it! I can now see the possibilities are truly endless with weaving! This is truly so helpful as I was getting really bored with some of the weaving patterns I've been accustomed to using in my work.
Thank you for sharing your expertise! Your voice reminds me of Topher Grace, the actor who starred in That 70's Show and a few movies (one with Dennis Quaid, can't recall names). Excited to follow your channel and advance my techniques. Will have to get used to rotating the clamp, though. My brain is wired (no pun intended, lol) to work from the same side/direction, but your style does make sense! Thanks 😊
Thank you! Btw, you have such a soothing voice. Have you ever thought of narrating documentaries, movies, sports casting, etc? I could listen to you all day. Lol
haha thank you! i am actually a MASSIVE audiobook fan. 9/10 i have audiobooks playing in the studio when i'm working. i'd love to narrate some of my favorite books if i ever had kids or something like that. maybe i could!
always enjoy and learn from your clear and concise videos. Can you do one focusing on different bail foundation designs, and when you start adding the bail to a design in process. !Thx in advance.
This is so wonderful of you to share your knowledge. I would comment on one thing and that would be if you could zoom in closer to the accually weave. I find it hard to see the details of what the weave. Your video is really nicely done . Much L.O.V.E
Thank you for these excellent videos. As awful as the internet can be these days, I've found all manner of brilliant how to videos that have helped me learn all sorts of things. I have a question that I hope you haven't had to answer a million times already. What brand and size of clamp do you use? I looked one of my local hardware stores, but theirs had grooves in the jaws that would allow wire to slip through. And do the ones you use lock, or are they just spring clamps?
oops! excuse me! i answered your other question on this post instead of about the clamps. the clamp was just a cheap clamp i found in the hardware section of my local grocery store
@@RaftarkJewelry I just did my first wrapping, making a copper wire cuff with 16ga wire then wrapping with 24ga. I was tired afterward. I ordered 28g copper and sterling silver, so that should go a lot easier and look better. It's a bit chunky but I'm happy with my first attempt.
Awesome video as always. It fascinates me to see you working almost exclusively in square and half hard. Are you familuar with the "bowtie" setting. Golden Gate did a video about it. Is it worth learning? If so would you consider doing a vide about it?
its funny, at one point when i first started i ordered a whole bunch of half round and ran out of round. instead of waiting until i got paid to order more of my usual stuff i decided to try half round out. i've been stuck on it ever since! i almost never order round other than 20g and 28,30,32. but yes! i do know of that setting, my friend Miles McDonald was the mastermind behind it and does some incredible work with it (check out @theartofwire on Instagram)! i'll chat with him and see if maybe he would be interested in coming on the channel for a video to discuss his technique with us!

I will see what i can do! i know i picked up a macro lens for my phone at some point, i'll have to pull it out of storage for the next video!
Yes! Love your work and explanation but it is hard to see the wires & finished weave pattern from that distance, at least on my phone.
Love your videos and teaching style. Where did you get that clamp/vise you use in this tutorial?
Bravo!
thank you so much!!!
Thank you for the tutorial. It helps quite a bit. What kind of wire is it you are using? Is it real silver or something like a colored copper?
Thanks
rob archer cheers! I’m glad it’s helpful! I use only sterling silver in these videos
What kind of clamp do you use?
what is this thing you use to hold the thicker wire together???

Where do you get good nylon tip pliers?
Where do you get your wire from??
Nice! Cheers
Caroline Jobling cheers 😊!
Where do you get the nylon clamps? Thanks so much for your videos!
Thanks for watching! I bought these Swanstrom Delrin tips (i call them nylon, in essence they do the same thing) from Riogrande.com
oops! excuse me! i answered your other question on this post instead of about the clamps. the clamp was just a cheap clamp i found in the hardware section of my local grocery store
Thank you so much!
I see that you prefer 28 ga to 26ga? Do you normally use 28ga for your wrapping?
Generally I use 30 or 28g round for all of my coiling or weaving needs, I don’t use 26 personally but there is nothing wrong with using that instead!

Thank you for the speedy reply.

Meant half round not half hard

I'm sorry, but you need to show a closer view. You really can't see what you're doing with the exception of the last one.
