I don't have a KTM let alone the need to flash one but I watched all the way through and enjoyed that. Glad it turned out good for you pal. Spanking tutorial!
yer and this things just got a bit madder. insane on the pick up now. Havnt tried turning wheelie control off yet, hahaha ive got to find my balls for that. Fasty
If I had a KTM I’d be doing that ECU flash, makes you wonder why the manufacturers don’t give you the option of a remapping when you buy one, and that’s any bike really. Great stuff pal and I’m glad it’s made the ride better 🤘🏻 see thee soon pal.
Thanks buddy, its a bit rough around the edges but got the points across, I was very dubious about the whole process before slapping 500 sheets on the idea but very pleased with the results. I just wish I had my SC racing slip on to hear the full power blowing out of its arse. Fasty-Rides
I was really looking forward to watching and learning from this but the background music drove me nuts so I couldn’t finish watching! Your a interesting guy so didn’t need that white noise😂
Yer i get what your saying but the music is supposed to make it easier to listen to. No one wants to hear my daft Yorkshire voice for longer than they have to. haha. Fasty-Rides
A very informative vid Fasty. When you took the positive cover off please tell me that’s fallen into the bike to never be found again 😂. Loving the slippers as well. Oh and Kay said that you want the vibrations. I don’t no what she means by that. Great vid dude
it did mate, went right down into the bastard engine bay. Then slippers are the best ever pal. Kay can have my vibrations, you clearly aren't doing your job right mister. hahaha cheers pal. Fasty
you can also use the flasher tool for reading/erasing error codes you may get aswell, dont ask me why but every time i adjusted my chain i got an error code come up when 1st started, only takes a few mins to delete the codes.
Ah I didn't know you could also use it for that. Don't you find that the chain when set to how the manual says, still feels and looks very slack? Fasty
it does yes so i adjust it same as all my other bikes up and down 20mm ish and that seems to work for me and the quickshifter/blipper seem fine at that setting.
Thanks for the clear explanation. Do you still have access to the factory flash in case the bhp flash goes sour? Also, is there some sort of warranty and back-up service provided in case of difficulties either during the install or during use?
yes, that is still on the hand held flasher. So going back to stock is just as easy as putting the modified version on the bike. Yes they are pretty good apparently, I didnt need help or anything it was really simple to do. They also have a video on their UA-cam channel showing you how its done. Fasty
@@FastyRides It seems from your assessment the engine vibrations that several owners including me are troubled with are largely cured with this flash. Although I am in Canada my '22 S is also Euro 5 compliant and I guess I would expect similar results from this product. Thank you again.
@@PeterDavid-g2o yes there is a lot of vibrations on the bike. There is a few things I did to help. 1 I always use puppy grips, they help a lot. 2 you can but bar raisers with rubber inserts, which I am buying next. 3, the reflash which helped a lot. reduced the vibes down quite a bit. Fasty-Rides
they can remap it for no cat, you would just have to let them know when ordering. Not sure about KTM remapping the bike. it wouldnt matter anyway as I can just remap it myself with the BHPuk electronic box thingy. Fasty
Very interesting, looking to do the same with my BMW K1600. Did I miss the bit where you sent the file off to BHP, it doesn't appear to be in your video?
Bloody hell Fasty, the last time I head music like that was last year in the chapel where we were saying our last goodbye to a friend, talk about sombre, I had visions of being dead! Get rid mate and just do the review and walk through. Ps.. £500 for a remap... Jeeeez, BHPs owner will be a happy chappy that's for sure
£500 for a remap! what a rip-off! And you can only use it on one bike? I have 3. xsr 700 sent off ECU 2 days returned. £250. Dyno tune on a 1050 Triumph sport, decatt and sc project end can. £350. funny vid :)
Admittedly it is expensive, but you have to factor in the ref lasher and cables etc you receive in the post, and the ability to either revert back to stock, or reinstall if dealer has updated software.
@@FastyRides That's much better. I'm still sceptical about the whole thing. I'd imagine the KTM engineers know what they're doing. And while I agree, that certain specs on the engine can be altered. The gain in one aspect means loses on other. If your goal is for example racing, your priority is power and not longevity of the engine. Your perceived smoothness of the engine may cause higher running temperatures or other issues. I wouldn't mess with it. I believe in the saying: If it works, don't fix it. On the other hand. If it floats your boat, go for it. Life is short. Happy riding!
@@pajownikThe engineers do know what they are doing. It’s the government mandated BS that foul it up from running by properly. I’d argue it actually runs cooler with greater longevity with it properly sorted out.
@@kj385 I get what you are saying, however. All the reviewers claimed, that the engine in 2021+ model runs smoother than previous gen. Which was euro 4. So is it better or worse? I gues we will never really know. Unless someone does proper, extensive tests.
Great demonstration. I have just ordered a decat link pipe and ECU Flasher from BHP for my Multistrada V4 so I kinda know what to expect now - thanks.
