I have one . He is great. Affectionate dog. Needs pats and cuddles. Trains easily . Listens. And sleeps well at night . Very good dog
Mine's only 2 but it's a couch potato and lounges around the house a lot, it acts like a total house dog, surprised people have a completely different experiences with theirs.
These dogs are different yes but they don’t need a job and they aren’t nocturnal. It’s a misnomer. They need to be stimulated a lot only. Guarding does this but walking and training also does this. Guarding me and my partner on walks is his job and he loves it.
Agreed however they were raised on a farm and still months later are mostly nocturnal as they watch over the animals then have never been on leash

Mine doesn't like dog biscuits or dog food, it only really likes poultry or red meat.

They won’t come inside. They are more than welcome they were born and raised on a farm
I’ve read like they to be outside as it’s their instinct as they’re live stock guardians dogs. They’re working dogs, if they can’t work they won’t be happy. To work they need to be outside…
A bit of misinformation….mine is in a small apartment and I walk him twice a day without fail and only guards the house. He sleeps inside in the hot Australian summer. He fetches and loves kids. We take our dog to the dog park and loves it.
@@Timbo6669 yes they are also amazing family members they still refuse to come inside but go in the barn now
My maremma is also not food motivated. He barely eats his meals.
