I played the PS5 demo for Granblue Fantasy Relink and to say the least the game blew me AWAY! In this video I give you my full impressions of the demo, including my favorite characters to play as, and how I think the full game is going to shake out.

As someone who played the demo with all 11 characters, I can 100% agree with your comments. Every character has a unique flow/playstyle to them and based the mechanics, this game is far from a button-masher. My mouth is watering at the idea of playing with a lot more in the full game! I play this on PS4, and it still looks great! Not PS5-great but still great. Been following coverage for this game for a month now, and it seems like the devs poured a lot of passion into this game. I really hope it pays off.

The amount of characters was borderline overwhelming. I hope in the full game it eases into the combat better.
@@withoutthejuice7193I straight up forgot to play as Rakam and Ghandagoza hahaha. After like 5-10 hours I was like "hey wait there's more" and they were fun too even though I prefer Io, Char or Catalina. I'm so excited to see all the skills

I have been waiting since 2016 when I first laid eyes on this games. I sworn 9 hrs on the demo getting S++ on all the quests and I’m SO glad what I have seen has me completely enthralled! The graphics, the combat everything 🤩
I had almost 20 hours in it and tried to S+ with multiple characters hahahaha this game is the kind of digital drug that should be illegal, like Monster Hunter. But I'm glad it isn't
The game was announced in 2016 and I've been following it since 2018 ~ early 2019
Actually so surreal to think that the wait is almost over, the light at the end of the tunnel is finally here.
I'm just PRAYING that Granblue Fantasy Relink and Persona 3 Reload can somehow co-exist and not cannibalize each other's sales since Persona releases the very next day. Gonna be pretty heartbroken if the game I was waiting 6 years for underperforms just because a bigger name JRPG is releasing 24 hours later 😔
I think it will be close kept persona fans who like turn based will flock to that but grandeur and the demo already have garnered new fans because it’s so fun and action based so it’s not slow for most of us.

Why did it take so long for them to finish and release it?
@@jackjohnson8305 Biggest reason is the original developers were changed meaning a whole new company of developers had to resume building the game, if even that as they may have had to restart development at that point.
@@jackjohnson8305someone said Platinum Games was taking too long and then the contract expired(but the developer in Platinum moved to Cygames to help develop) and then Cygames developed the rests and by that they basically built the game from the ground up again still retaining what Platinum did
I was a bit concerned about the reception of this game after it’s been in limbo for so long. As it turns out, it looks like an absolute banger. Curious to see how deep the main story is considering it seems like it’s not terribly long in that regard. Great breakdown Taylor thank you 🎊 🎉

This is my first time watching anything related Granblue Fantasy, and I kid you not, I'm now looking forward to play this game on day one.
I would recommend playing the demo too as that will get you the real feel of the game as well!
Omg pls look up the story/character explained videos ... it's really helped me appreciate what the hell is going on as someone who likes the lore and aesthetic more than mobile or fighting games

i do like that. It's as if they're telling you "hey, this game is challenging. so much so that we're gonna tell you what your enemy is weak against, allow you to stack your deck as much as possible, and we STILL bet this enemy is gon whoop ya. Good luck"

The little guy gave me my Yoda fix I didn’t know I needed.
This game is very fresh. I like the multiplayer and the rewards.
I still need to understand more about this game but it’s amazing to play.
Yeah I’m curious about the full scope of the Quest mode.

@@Demiurge13 I mean I'm playing through P3P right now but I want to actually run around these areas instead of the point and click crap and I want to see the actual scenes instead of the visual novel look.
@@luvstagrind don't lnow about portable, but in the playstation 2 persona 3 fes, you ran around all the areas, and there were actual scenes not visual novel stuff so..
How much space does it take up currently patches and all?

Lancelot was my favorite, too! He does make my wrists hurt a bit, must be getting old lol. Also like Rackham and might main him... not sure yet.

It still feels surreal after all these years of waiting that Granblue Fantasy relink is otw, I'm so hype for release the demo sold the game even more! Only thing i do wish is that it had it's own month and was released in Jan just to combat against FF7 Rebirth and P3R but either way I'm still hyped and is a game I'll being diving into first!, Awesome video Taylor and double upload I SEE YOU! 👀👀🔥🔥👌🏾👌🏾

Lots of jrpgs coming out but im glad the only other two i care about coming out are just remakes. As excited as i am for P3R and FF7Re, i dont need to blast them on day one since i know both of their stories even if they add some extra surprises in them. Granblue is brand new so it makes the most sense to tackle it first. The benefits of being an older gamer lol Made my choice super easy.

Super fast twink that doesn't do big numbies. But I forgive all that because Kaltzwinger is sssoooooooo epic after a combo finisher 😭
GranBlue Fantasy ReLink looks fire. The new Yakuza like a Dragon also looks like a lot of fun.
My ONLY problem so far with the demo/game was that stupid running animation for the character in the overworld. I don't like how hunched over the upper body is while the legs are just upright. It just looks really weird to me. lol Otherwise, I love the art style, the monster hunter esque quests, and the lore so far.
Naruto without the style lol. But the sheathing and walking animations are awesome so I'm confused
I really really hope you can actually go into the buildings when you explore the world in the full game, I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t go into any of them since that’s one of my favorite things to do in RPGs. But I will enjoy this amazing game regardless 😅
Indoor cutscenes at most are what I'm expecting. It's not that kinda rpg, more combat focused imo

Feels like tales except the part that you can't switch characters mid fight 😫😭
Lancelot's biggest issue is his atrocious damage. It is far below everyone else in the demo. He seems best built for support in terms of freezing and breaking.
He's the utility version of Yoda
I think that’ll become important near the end game, like interrupting big attacks.

Combat is great but camera has delay which makes it annoying. Also you cannot rebind keys :(
To me, the mechanics of the character's seem to boil down to a few different mechanics that are just rehashed with different aesthetics and combined in slightly different ways. The complexity of each character is very overstated IMO, and I'd much rather see a smaller quantity of character that have more depth than what I'm seeing in the demo. I hate how most of the character's don't have any way to string together different types of attacks and special abilities, and there isn't much flow to the combat. The game feels like it's all flash, and no matter what character you pick, you're going to be using the same few combso over and over again, and I see the combat getting dull quickly unless this demo is just doing a bad job of demonstrating what the full game will entail. I've been very excited for this game for years and this demo has really put a damper on it for me personally.
Alot of characters skills and mystery nods are missing in the demo they are on their full potential
Demo is heavily restricted compared to the full game the customization is missing like characters have massive skill trees that supposedly totally change how they play
My favorite part was spending 20 minutes fighting a little mob dude because the enemies are sponges

Both Monster Hunter and Tales of Arise, with a more character-action skill combat similar to Nier Automata. Even has dodge offset combos from Bayonetta.

the assist modes sound disgusting, fine if it's just single player, but they better not be allowed in multiplayer
It's not allowed on end game content / high level content, just story and low level quest

It's not you, game is your generic action JRPG, dime a dozen, combat plays like Tales of Arise or Ni No Kuni 2. Not sure what he is and other content creators are creaming about, it's like they never played God Eater 3.

Yeah, the story starts and finishes with this game. No need for prior knowledge of the franchise.

No, but it's not really a normal JRPG either, at least based on the demo. It seems entirely mission based, with no interconnectivity between areas, and "quests" seem to just be either repetitive waves of enemies or boring, overlong boss fights. As a JRPG fan, I was not at all impressed by the demo, and fail to see the hype for the game.
@@DippoMagoo There are 5 different quest mode types:
- Horde (Which are the Goblins in the demo)
- Survival
- Boss (Which I presume are both the Rock Golem and the Quakadile in the demo)
- Explore
- and Defend
So there's more to the co-op quests than just partying up with others and beating a single boss for sure lol. I don't think this game will be boring at all, and there'll be a lot of unique quests to keep you engaged.
Kind off in the way you get the Pnjs but no microtransaction at all
As I tend to avoid gacha games, I would love it if games like this become a common trend.
My only problem is there is no switching characters during the battle like tales and Final Fantasy vii remake

You obviously haven't been following my channel or you'd know I've been hyped for this game for years. It's an honor to me that they want to sponsor a video.
I was absolutely hyped for this game… but since the demo I decide not to buy it. I expected the game to be focused on single player and coop an after thought.
The story missions didn’t felt good at all and way too easy. The coop quest mode felt like a much worse Monster Hunter experience… however I have to get them credit for the fluent animations and that every character has a minor mechanic change it in them.
Otherwise it’s sadly a hard pass for me I would rather go and play MH RISE again which I will not since Helldivers 2,Dragons Dogma 2, Final Fantasy Rebirth, Rise of Ronin and Fallout 4 NEXT GEN are coming so there is actually more the enough games for me to play this year. Looking forward to their next game tho if I’m still alive until then.

It's not open world It's straight forward and linear, short levels...it's like monster hunter and I'm not feeling that at all...they delayed the game for years and it's story is only 20 hours long and asking full price for it...ill wait for the price drop in a few months to get it
20 hours and then an extra 20 once you “beat the game.” Plus endless amounts of hours in the questing co-op mode.
Its granblue its gonna be about the boss battles characters and THE GRIND

Story is story thats pretty straight forward with its challenges and extras thrown in here and there to be about 20 hours and most of the meat coming from the post story that u can play co op or alone
And no its not final fantasy 15 the aim is a complete game on release, yes there is going to be free updates for the first quarter of the year in the form of 2 characters a superboss and a suprise at the end but it will not be a live service game and there are no planned updates or dlc after the first batch

Doesn’t mean that he will automatically be biased toward the game. Hell there’s a demo you can download and try it for yourself.
Played it and it's way over hyped. I think this youtuber and others are paid shills. This game has mobile gacha game mechanics. Levels that might seem open, but linear. Only saving grace are the boss fights and it seems they took cues from FF16 boss cinematic.

Yeah it’s disappointing if you ignore all the online quest the game will have that will easily make it way longer considering ppl are putting 50 hours into the demo because it’s so fun safe to say those who are grinding out the online quest will easily hit 100 hours and more which is way worth the $60 asking price
You have players put in over 50 hours into the demo with a story mode that lasts for about an hour dude. It's the gameplay that is long lasting with replay value.
Dude monster hunter world and rise is like 10 or 15 hours. If you ACTUALLY play them and stop bitching about how long a story is, you can play monster hunter for thousands of hours.
yall want a game with a long story to just either complain that its too long or boring or the story falls off and when we get a “short” story that will most likely get straight to the point yall call it too short i feel bad for you that you can’t appreciate just the game itself
20 without side quests, and they confirmed there is an extra post game story that takes another 10 hours to do. All that without counting multiplayer quests.
