  • When Ryan Torcicollo goes to work, he sets out to make a difference. As an arborist, each day and job has its unique challenges from tackling a huge tree removal to doing a simple prune. No matter what the job entails, his work in the tree care industry allows him to beautify landscapes, improve the health of trees, and ensure safety for the structures and people below the trees. For Ryan, tree care is a labor of love.

    Hey this is Nick from Sky High Window Services Ltd from Toronto, the only proprietary rope access window cleaning company in Ontario, and one of few in Canada. We strictly use Petzl products, and I'd love to reach out to someone about doing a Petzl Professional piece. This year we began diving head first into photography, and working with film and tv productions. Most recently we've been experimenting with custom 360 VR head cams rigged on Petzl Vertex helmets. This has never been done before. We're up on skyscrapers of all sizes, hundreds of meters at times and I think something like this (with your support) could create ripples in the industry.
    The high rise window cleaning industry, specifically, traditional methods such as bosons chair and swing-stage are still very "cowboy" and unsafe. Unfortunately, a lack of awareness has lead to a lack of change and I think this could be a great market for Petzl to tap into.

      Uhhh, not on my jobsite. We are professionals. Not some guy that makes simple safety mistakes and moves like he needs to retake(or probably even just take) his certification. You never roll blind like that without your saw sheathed tied off to a leg. This is honestly ridiculous and shows all you have to do is find a market and anyone can make a living regardless of talent or skill.

    • @Thissafakename
      @Thissafakename 5 років тому

      @@KplusU I understand It wasn't perfect... We all learn things with experience to make us better. This a good representation, and I stand by that.. Not perfect one no, a thing or two could be better sure... Who work with and whom we learn from is key, what we research at home is up to the individual.. with all that said I think he represented the culture in a positive way and did a good job. Let's just agree to disagree if you don't think so.

    I want to become an arborist! But there is one major question/concern I have, I love smoking weed occasionally (not every single day but twice a week or so) and I wonder if the most employers force their workers to pee? To check for weed (and other drugs)? Please, I need to know!

      After reading the Technical Notice of the ZIGZAG, here is what we say: "Activities involving the use of this equipment are inherently dangerous. You are responsible for your own actions, decisions and safety." We don't have the answer to your question. But for sure we can't recommend mixing your future job with your current habits ;)
