The overkill of the crane made this hilarious. Good job at not killing each other, taking great video, and showing how to save the most amount of time in the safest way possible.
ArborMax Tree Service I'm a tree climber from Boston MA. As I write to you now i am at the airport waiting to fly into Raleigh, I have a few questions (such as are you hiring etc) as I intend to move to NC one day. Is there a way I can contact you? Thanks and be safe.
Greetings Joseph. We are always looking for awesome individuals to join our team. Our corporate office is located in Raleigh NC. Give them a call 919-412-6790
that was a cool video, enjoyed that. some good sized wood. what made you decide guys dump that stem at like 4:00 instead of using the crane? keep em' coming man, the drone gives a neat view point
+ASprague Arbor thanks for watching and commenting. The property owner requested that we leave the trunk on site for his friend who has a sawmill so we just dropped it and left it for him. thanks again for watching.
I was quite negative in my comments the 1st time i watched this but the more i watch, the better i like it...really grows on you.Still a little too slick for me but great tree work all the same
Awesome video guys and great work! Really enjoy watching clear and well put together videos of tree removals! Keep it up and keep the videos coming. Be safe out there
These guys have some serious equipment. I guess if you play like the big boys you got to put up or shut up. Power lines, in the first job, make me nervous. Lots of evil pixies in those wires. Nicely done gentlemen.
Really like the shoot but music is so personal and varied it can detract from the video, I have climbed and cut for 30 years so all I hear up a tree is heavy breathing, and a saw. Like the video so I turn down the sound. Cheers
david gorelle hi thanks for watching. Thats a good question. while you do want to keep the outriggers as low as possible, you must make sure that the entire crane is level 360 degrees. That means on steep slopes the crane will most likley be all the way off the ground.
chemistrycounts thanks for watching. The crews in this video service the Carolinas. its good to see that youcare about safety as much as we do. All of the eye protection worn by our grounds operation specialiata meet or excees ansi and osha requirements. If you are referring to the silver shades with dark lenses tou can pick up a pair at agrisupply.com they are among the most comfortable and durable safety glasses anywhere. Thanks again for watching.
awesome video. For everyone questioning the crane i say fuck em. If you got it like that then more power to you. Definitely subscribing to this channel.
WOW, dangerous but necessary work. BIG responsibility handling that crane around the workers and property. It takes a lot of competence and coordination of manpower to stay safe in that work environment.
i do not understand why you needed a crane to lift the leaders over power lines when there was ample room in the yard for laying pieces out and lowering... that tree is a 3 man job for my crew...
woodjie1 thanks for watching and commenting. we used the crane because it allowed us to remove the tree in 45 minutes rather than 3-4 hours. This project had serious time limitations due to its location and volume of traffic at certain times. we were able to remove 7 trees the same size on that day all whole maintaining the required minimum approach distance required. We did not "need" the crane bit it allowed us to meet our clients goals within the required timeframe. Thanks again for commenting.
lol hope u all have the ability to work close to power lines. I know if Duke see you doing that stuff they will fine the shit out you. I have to do trees like that going threw power lines with no cranes. looks fun tho.
I dunno, a bit overdone with the drone work, felt more like it was a test video for trying out a new editing program/equipment rather than tree removal edit: not to say it's not a good video!
Using cranes in regards to tree removals allows for salvaging prime pieces for milling.... The last thing you want to do is cut up a nice log into firewood...
+Daniel f yeah I do. It was today. Do you think we have a film crew in every tree? What's wrong with making an awesome video to show the awesomeness of our profession. I'm the third generation of my family to be an arborist and my boys are the fourth. I am extremely grateful for the advancements in our industry. Plus we'd rather be a hipsters than haters.
+Arbormax Yeah remember when people just felled trees with an axe and a whipsaw :P I, for one, greatly appreciated the video. That massive crane is impressive. It's also great at reducing risk and saving time. Wouldn't complain about some more footage of the crane and the operators pov into the mix either. Could've been a camera in the cabin, on the operator's helmet, or on top of the crane arm. Great video, 4:43 Funny!
Crane jockys.... nothing more. I use cranes whenever needed and sometimes they are the only way to fly, but I see tree climbers getting soft and technical rigging is just not used much these days..... Show and blow!!!! I did see a climber using a husky.....good choice.....give me a 346xp or a 550xp with a 16"bar any day.....from start to finish on most jobs...... Hell, Skydiving is more fun anyway......be safe fellas...
Hi +Stephen Neeson thanks for commenting. The mask was intended to provide that extra flare to the video. The video was originally going to be about a trees nightmare and the mask fit that profile. It turned into something different but we still felt the mask fit the theatrics of the video.
Our goal everyday is to do as much as possible in the safest and easiest way available. We have found that this hook and cut method increases production by up to 50% when removing trees with canopies larger than 60 ft. The climber that is responsible for cutting can easily maneuver into place for his next cut while the other is hooking. Thanks for watching.

Do you take that monster crane everywhere ? lmao. We have a tree that can be fell. BRING THE CRANE ! Looked to be pretty safe work but overkill on crane and mask was little gay. Just my opinion which doesn't mean shit!!!
the random kid You're an idiot speaking on a subject you have no knowledge in. If you love trees so much you would understand why some trees need to be removed.
Yeah we agree, the facemask is kind of corny lol. We just put it on for the video, figured it would draw attention. It did. Thanks for noticing that we make tree work look easy. There are so many inexperienced folks in our field that don't completely understand the complexities of using cranes to assist with the tree removal process. Unfortunately, that is a dangerous a combination that has resulted in some tragic endings. It isn't hard to find a youtube clip of failed cranes or catastrophic tree failures. Thanks again for watching.
nice job - that moment at 1.42 where the drone pilot backs through the middle of power lines ...WOW
Great artful vid. Music really works well with it.
I will definitely be watching it again. Nice job!
+August Hunicke thanks. Just trying to be like you and ACE lol.
Its ok....shhhhh, your still the best Aug.
I f*cking love climbing trees dude. I don't know how the hell I ended up doing this for a living, but I can't imagine doing anything else.
The overkill of the crane made this hilarious.
Good job at not killing each other, taking great video, and showing how to save the most amount of time in the safest way possible.
Ace does make some amazing videos. No one can deny that Ace is the Steven Spielberg of tree videos.

Y’all have your own damn Tree Crane! That will make the day go a lot smoother on us climbers. Peace!
HI DUDE IT S VERY VERY NICE VIDEOS AND GOOD JOB
This wasn't only cool, it's also quite educational.
Good use of the radio-controlled video camera.
good show , keep them coming!
nice video keep em coming!
Im impressed. Good video
Great video. Question: isn’t it against OSHA to put cranes over wires? We’re those de-energized?
Awesome video guys and great work! Really enjoy watching clear and well put together videos of tree removals! Keep it up and keep the videos coming. Be safe out there
Good Job Boys, nice video, thumbs up ;)
Great vid
nice work and good vid
Whats with That music and that crane😆 lmfao!
no trees were harmed in this video. we just came and moved away what we want because we want this space and we are human and can do it.
Love it😍🌳🌲
These guys have some serious equipment. I guess if you play like the big boys you got to put up or shut up. Power lines, in the first job, make me nervous. Lots of evil pixies in those wires. Nicely done gentlemen.
what kind of hinge is that ??
Really like the shoot but music is so personal and varied it can detract from the video, I have climbed and cut for 30 years so all I hear up a tree is heavy breathing, and a saw. Like the video so I turn down the sound. Cheers
Cool video
Aren't the crane outriggers down too far? I've been told just to take the weight of it off the suspension.
david gorelle hi thanks for watching. Thats a good question. while you do want to keep the outriggers as low as possible, you must make sure that the entire crane is level 360 degrees. That means on steep slopes the crane will most likley be all the way off the ground.
so they have one climber to tie the pieces and other climber to cut the piece. sweet. easy money.
Is ArborMax based in Jersey Shore? So many non-PPE glasses-wearing Guidos working on the ground.

WOW, dangerous but necessary work. BIG responsibility handling that crane around the workers and property. It takes a lot of competence and coordination of manpower to stay safe in that work environment.
Cranes make it so much more fun!
Yes they do!

oh nice 45min for that size tree is a feat in its self. didnt think about time frames/traffic =D
My 55 ft Asplundh boom truck could have done the same thing even faster. Plus its about a third the price of the crane. The crane looks like fun tho.
lol hope u all have the ability to work close to power lines. I know if Duke see you doing that stuff they will fine the shit out you. I have to do trees like that going threw power lines with no cranes. looks fun tho.

+Daniel f yeah I do. It was today. Do you think we have a film crew in every tree? What's wrong with making an awesome video to show the awesomeness of our profession. Hi +Stephen Neeson thanks for commenting. The mask was intended to provide that extra flare to the video. The video was originally going to be about a trees nightmare and the mask fit that profile. It turned into something different but we still felt the mask fit the theatrics of the video.
I would gladly trade in the mask for a set of ear plugs.
