How to Sew Straight

New seamsters are obsessed with "sewing straight". I get it. Your machine wants you to sew straight. Your feed dogs pull your fabric straight (unless your differential feed is off - look for a screw that has a button hole on the right and left). What you are actually looking to learn how to do is control your fabric with your fingers and eyes.
Your Sewing Sherpa Shauna believes that the solution is not in "trying" but in having some fun with lines on fabric. After an hour or so of "practice" you will have much less of a challenge following the seam guides on your throat plate.
