I was looking for a video to help me with some university stuff and came across this. I was instantly sold when I heard the mighty Elder less than 2 minutes in!! So good.
Great intuitive explanation in a very compact and efficient video! I have watched several AutoEncoder videos and read several blogs and papers -- first time the "why" and what they are good for was explained so clearly!
Have to admit I watched a couple sections 2 or 3 times, but autoencoders make a lot more sense now. Just came from another video explaining them and everything seemed to click while watching this one, so thank you! So many applications.
I like that you made your first educational deep learning video by beginning with autoencoders : videos on neural networks are oversaturated, and many people often forget that before a neural network accomplish a given task, it needs to first find intrisic structures/features which it can rely on without necessarily existing labels (some people anthropomorphize neural network, as a child who can only learn through an adult guidance, materialized by labels), and for me autoencoders offer a perfect illustration of that.
I really appreciate this video my friend, a lot of my professors speak broken English and it's difficult to learn at times! Thank you for your hard work. Keep on educating.
