Hi Prem and Arthi , this green card discussion also was part of “Gang of eight” which failed earlier . Also , Biden taking pro immigration stand by signing executive order to apeace Hispanic voters. Now Trump being anti immigrate through out his speeches took a U turn saying that he wants to give Green cards to US foreign graduates. He wanted to have young work force to stay in US as there is shortage of labor across industries not just IT. This is what I think he meant. Also , I like both of your work. Thanks a lot for all the good content.

Unfortunately people still don’t understand Trump, he supports legal immigration and that has been his agenda. Whether he signs something for legal immigrants or not definitely republicans support legal immigrants in some form.
It will be a win-win situation for America and F1 students. America gets money, students get green cards. I think it is a great initiative👍🏼 I am still on H1 and not graduated from US colleges but I would rather prefer to get GC for skilled people than undocumented immigrants.
I don't think all graduates will b given GC. It will b given only to top students. They will have a check point on this for sure.
In fact, Indians who already got citizenship and eventually right to vote, don’t want the GC process to get any easier. As it is making them to lose the privileged status of feeling entitled.

Even obama in 2009 said, he will staple green card to STEM graduates. Immigration is the last priority for any administration, so don't have any hopes on this guys.average wait time for gc is 10 or 11 years after filing for indiansin eb2/eb3, until then carry on with your regular life. Peace

But anyone file today green card on EB2 or EB3 they never get the gc in 10 or 11 years it would take more than 60 years in simple words they never get before their retirement 😑😑
@ArthiPrem I filed my gc in Dec 2013 and got my gc in July 2022( so that's less than 10 years). I don't agree with 50/60 years waiting time, the uscis dates doesn't move forward in linear progression. Every few years, the dates will jump a couple of years ahead and is not based on any logic or math. In 2007 under bush admin, they made all dates current . So anything can happen

Could Trump issue a Green Card for all Indians as just said and as news in Indian media?
First of all he has no Green Card printer to give green cards outside INA-1965 even after he becoming president.
What is INA-1965?
Immigration national act from year 1965 passed in Congress. As per that GCs per year quota is 1 million and out of it 140,000 goes to employment category.
So We all highly skilled should know how systems work here.
GC backlogs learn that presidents can’t do anything in this country. Only 100 senators can do something about INA-1965-Immigration national act.
Any bill other than budget should have 60/100 votes in senate like Rajya Sabha in India. Last time 60+ votes owned by one party was in 1975. Since then no party owned more than 60 senators out of 100. These senate members here elected by people and 2 per each state irrespective of population in 50 states. These senators mostly not appointed by any parties and once they won they can be senators for 6 years. Where’s president is only for 4 years. Law wise they are very independent. Don’t listen to President also. President or party leader here can’t close doors as in India and ask vote for a bill.
President Obama told in 2008 when I was in school/university here. Stapling green cards with degrees. Only thing is since then US govt has no staples. Staples ordered. I have been waiting to take my degree for that.
So this is not possible. Tell something new. Feel free to post my message whoever says Trump said so or someone said GCs to Indians.

Why presidents talk on these issues. Presidents want to talk on things which causing national attention. So on many things they just talk like that.

I just agreed with your points. And 100% they won't do what they have said. Also, the INA act is subject to change as per the current scenario. It's a long discussion that is not going to happen anytime soon. But the president can use their executive power to bring about some changes, like when Biden issued green cards for the undocumented spouses who married U.S. citizens. This was not included in the INA act, but they did it. So they can do something for legal immigrants, but it never happens.

If Trump is going to give GC for all international graduates as promised what will happen to EB2 EB3 and other EB catogeries who already had applied for GC in 2013 and they are all graduated from U.S universities waiting for GC and living with EAD for the more than 10 years. Will they be deprived of their legal rights. I don't understand what he's talking about. First he should clear this EB backlogs before thinking of any populist measures like this.
