Thanks for another good reaction to my favourite singer. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody.
As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener.
In this video did you notice:Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the pianist, who smiled as he read them? They were her wishes (instructions) to the band how she wished therm to play the music. Then a brief glimpse of Mery Zamani, a well known and respected Iranian artist, who is also Angelina's maternal grandmother and the person who encouraged Angelina in her love of music, especially jazz. And then there is a shot of Angelina holding a candle upon which was an image of Screamin' Jay Hawkins. Lastly, did you notice how the "performing" Angelina, singing at a level of maturity far beyond her years, suddenly became a 9-year-old child almost instantaneously once she finished singing. From the time I first heard Angelina, way back at her first audition on Norway's Got Talent, she has amazed me.

A very amazing young lady besides being one of the best singers in the world is also the youngest published Author in Norway, is fluent in Norwegian , Farsi , English, some Swedish and Japanese. She has raised more tan $20 million for charitable causes especially poor children around the world.

This is the homage of Angelina to Screamin', the original writer and singer and isn't an imitation, er reinterpretation of a singer she has listened to and admires. Certainly not many adults know him, certainly the only girl in the world who knows him and who also thinks of singing him without any fear is she. This is Angelina, the incredible magical little girl. It's incredible that this adaptation is all her own (the sheets written) and that at that age she was able to evaluate and transform, according to her sensitivity, such a particular and powerful song 😊 ❤️ This is probably the best reinterpretation made by a singer in over 60 years of this song.

You might want to see what she looks like and sounds like today at 15 years old.
