We should outlaw credit past a certain reasonable amount....this nation is ridiculously in debt and the only way out of it is to screw everyong else via printing more and more devalued dollars making all of us that were frugal feel like fools
Some of us sacrificed like hell to put our kids through university along with my son working (and walking btw no car) his whole way through so forgive me for feeling very slighted at the idea that others get a free ride without similar sacrifice...all on my tax dollar is how I see it ....are we going to get a big rebate to make it fair ? I was happy and proud of my son that he graduated with zero student debt but we will feel like suckers if the government cancels everyone elses student loans. I feel similar about certain amnesty programs where people are rewarded for their illegal shortcuts meanwhile so many others followed the rules to the letter at great effort

Explain can you the public policies that promote the woman to have the baby but have no fiscal support for her or the nation's baby once it is born ... disparity much? If these folks had money, they would not have to get the loans. The system failed them, including not regulating colleges on the hefty tuition fee structure. For the taxes that middle class pay to cover for the untaxed wealthy, the result is your so-called "Societal problems." Wealthy untaxed folks are actually on welfare, begging by depending on the poorer folks. So ... The parent loans add up to just 2 billion dollars while the Elons and Bezos among us combined owe 200 billion dollars in tax. Elon uses federal NASA launch pads to send up his private satellites. Dissonance much?

@Ronald Reagan you do realize that millionaires and billionaires pay LESS in taxes than YOU or ME? That’s the problem right there. Go look it up. Jeff Bezos, Elon musk, etc ALL pay ZERO dollars in federal income taxes and get away with it. That’s why we need a wealth tax NOW.
They at least need to push for required finance classes to stress the gravity of student loans, along with pushing for trades.

You can never save certain ones addicted to credit...you could bail them out everytime and everytime they will immediately borrow even more
