The baumannator is a TCS (Transmission Control System) for an AOD-E/4R70W transmission. It is what controls the transmission, you can adjust and tune it for different shit points and all sorts.of trick stuff. That original handheld piece is a thermocouple for measuring EGT's for fine tuning the carburetor.
Glad to see this thing coming back to life! Love the 90s/early 2000s tech, so nice to see the old tech again.
Almost--so close! Looking forward to hearing this thing roar to life, and for you to take a rip down the road in it.
Good troubleshooting! Going to be awesome!
By far my favorite car on your channel.
Man, I want it. This would make a great little daily driver/beater car.
Daily, beater!?!? This car has history!
Niceee job done 🙏
Love the electric red
This car is such a time capsule. It would be so rad if whoever buys it leaves it as-is for a fun weekend ripper and put together some racing history to display with it. But it will probably end up Coyote swapped with SVE wheels. 🙄
Lol let's hope not. It wouldn't take much to street this car at all
I would guess one switch would most likely be to lock the converter up in 4th or after 2nd gear. Thats a Bauman built Aod or Aod with Bauman internals, the old bauman box is amazing to see
That is a transmission controller for a AOD-E/4R70w transmission. It's an AOD-E swap, and you would use that controller, along with the TPS to adjust shit points, line pressure, and all that good stuff. Ancient from today's trick controllers, but it was cutting edge back then!
Your beer is octane/ cetane booster for humans.
Buaman was known for doing aod trans stuff
Looks like a 7 qt oil pan to me. E36 standing tall!
Back in the day in Houston, this was called a Baytown Bucket. I'm impressed. The previous owner kept the full interior.
You’ve seen this car in action?
Stock 302 block can be built into 454cu in. And still look stock. Fastest factory stock race cars did this trick.
It might have a Dart block since there is no oil dipstick. If so, it can take some serious abuse.
stock block, I just did not use a dip stick
F’N A 😎
Drag time Time Machine
I would assume there is a button for a transbrake. These lock the transmission is both forward and reverse gear. When you release the button, it's like dumping the clutch.
6:27 looks like pop rocks…
50tussin would love this this car
It's Auto...
The title should be, first try to start in 20 years
just curious. for something that hasnt started in 20 years. Step one would be to put it on a hoist. Why work on the ground? You know its going to be a big job.
My hoists are full... This is a walk in the park lol
@@TheInfamousProject ahh makes sense
7AL-2 for 300 hp lmao
Big power back then
