- The MOD is releasing the Armed Forces Pension Calculator on 1 August 2023 to provide active members an illustration of their pension entitlement and the impact the remedy may have on their benefits. Please note, the calculator is for illustrative purposes and should not be used as financial advice or for retirement planning.
Given the time it has taken to get to this stage it is unbelievable that there isn’t a calculator available for those who have already left service!

I would prefer an individual pension benefits letter showing both options, that make it obvious which is the better choice for me. The calculcator will rely on an individual entering the correct data, which could result in inaccurate results. Not ideal for such an important financial decision.
You will receive a RSS form, much like the BIS you receive free yearly on or Just after your birthday. The RSS will be sent out to you yearly from now on too which will have the 2 pensions on there side by side.The current one and the one with your legacy scheme with the mcloud remedy in place. This is common knowledge my friend, just do your research and you will see that the MOD put out the info, granted it’s not always easy to source BUT it is there.
surely they could easily do this for people who have left as well
What about those immediate detriment cases. Will it show us what we should be receiving?
It has a much bigger impact for those with pensions in payment than those currently serving.
what about SP who have left and are eligible under the MCloud remedy but are now in FTRS posts (HC). how will the remedy affect us and what should we expect as far as payments or pension changes? My pension is abated and if my pension is increased as part f the remedy i will miss out. do i have the opportunity to take advantage of a payment and not pension increase?

Ring JPAC. They answer quickly and put it in plain language, and give examples. ie if you did X and Y, it would mean you would get this over a certain time.
Or if you did this, it would mean this.
I found them really helpful.
