Little by little I’m changing out my cutting tools to this brand. The quality of their tools are superior and the focus on the grinding and clean cutting is perfect. Ergonomics are good too though you have to open it up past your grip to capture the wire in the shears.
I agree with your review. My son is an electrician contractor I get him different type Knipex tools each year for xmas gift & they are the best I know of and he loves every one of them He cuts wires, nails, screws, staples etc with ease far better than other brands & they feel like top quality tools when you use them.
Great demonstration that shows the quality of Knipex. More important it demonstrates how the right tool makes the job turn out right. The side cutters and the bolt cutters are not cable cutters.
Oh yes side cutters and bolt cutters ARE cable cutters. Cable is the stuff that conducts electricity. It is MUCH softer than wire rope. What you really mean to say is.... side cutters and bolt cutters are not wire rope cutters.
2:19 yeah about the bike cables... I'm searching for something for that job but also I'm looking something that can also cut the bike cable housing (and there we can find either metal wires OR hard spiral sheet metal what I'm worried about) Is this the right tool for me?
what is the name of the "ferrels" or "end caps" you used for these crimps on the cables? I'm making a new throttle cable and do not know what these are called and where to get them. Thank you in advance!
Seu inglês é fácil compreender. Uma fala pausada, mas eu não consigo perceber algum sotaque de outro país. Poderia me dizer se é americano nativo? Obrigado.
I've got a set of these and they are terrific. AS you say, very clean cut. On the same general subject, I'd highly recommend the small plier-size bolt cutters you mention as well. Knipex stuff is expensive but you really do get what you pay for. I hope winter is ending soon. Just got blasted here in New Jersey so it's not letting go here just yet!
I don't have a repair shop, but do need pliers like those for working on the equipment, and vehicles around home. I have a pair similar to those which I have in one of the pouches I keep for working on electrical appliances primarily, but also on computers, and outside equipment.
HEY, IT WASNT REALLY FAIR comparing these NEW k-nipex cutters to the TOTALLY worn out one`s roughly 3 mins in, if your going to include other tools, they should be like for like, eg, all the cutters should be BRAND NEW, however an interesting video.
Good feedback if he was doing a comparison between like products but he wasn't, His KNIPEX wire cutter is over a year old as he states at the start of the video and what he was trying to show was that regardless of age or type of side cutter a wire cutter tool will just about always make a better cut. It's nothing to do with one tool vs another but style of cutting that the tool undertakes - shear vs bite cut.
OH MAN NO THAT'S NOT ENGLISH THATS GERMAN IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE IT SEE THIS VIDIO FROM KNIPEX CHANNEL FROM GERMAN GUY ua-cam.com/video/xVuObaY8QjI/v-deo.html
He pronounces it Kneepex, the k flows in to the word, very quiet k then knee, it most definitely is not pronounced KA nipex like the KA is a separate word from nipex

Is this the right tool for me?
Great tips. Thanks Don
You might want to look into the proper way to crimp ferrule connectors☒ Those are some nice cable cutters though.
Shouldn't it be crimped vertically? Will this tool do the job ?
Do they make kanives too?
Damn those diagonals did a good job
Good review Donnie. Hope your wife is doing better. In my prayers.
Just bought a pair, thanks.
They are forged not cast
Drop forged I'm guessing.
man I tried everything no luck to get it prefect cut gonna have to buy this one thanks
Great review, thanks
great review. good editing & photography. thank you
Germany tools are the best quality and biutiful.
Best around, go get em
They are fully forged. Felco makes a similar tool, check ebay for best price on those, which are made in Switzerland.
Have you tried cutting some piano wires? Does it make a flat surface out of the cut?
I remember one day at work i found a tool like this in the trash and um made it mine.
Sweet. I want the whole stuff (cables, jackets ferules...etc...)
3:20 this is why i still love channellock.
Thanks, Don!!

If you think that the Knipex cable cutters are good, you should try the Knipex Side Cutters!
Thanks for the video.
Will these cut 5/32" stainless steel braided cable?
I believe so

Knipex makes the best pliers. Better than Chinese, Taiwanese, American, or Japanese pliers.
the thing is that you have to choose from more than one, I've picked up many knipex pliers with quality differences.
Quality products
Where do i find these cuters
amazon

I know it's a silly question and answer is probably "yes", but...does it cut clean bicycle cables with housing?
Yes, you can cut through the housing with a clean cutting result.
No wire was harmed in the making of this video
price
Forged. Huge difference. Not casted.
GREAT video! It is so informative. I want one 😁. Thanks so much.
Cari di indonesia ko ga ada ya

Probably forged not cast
Yes, I picked up on that too. Yes, forged
Nice video Dony. But I found my Park Tools cn10 cable cutter does same quality cut and crimps...and its half the price of the Knipex.
those are nice too
Dony do you know that 99carnot (steve) has passed away?
yes sadly he has
I hope your wife is doing better she is in my prayers. Do you fix bikes also ?
Germany steel is too OP !
Ахуительный обзор.
I can give the inches a pass, but the way Americans speak in fractions drives me crazy.
I was told that Germans dont use recycled steel for tools, that's why they feel different too.
I HATE WHEN PEOPLE PRONOUNCE IT LIKE NIPEX
big smoke The "K" is silent.
How do you know? As a German name I really doubt the K is silent
Just like knife the k is silent
