That’s just hypocritical for him to say Arron Rodgers is a 1st ballot with minimal post season success but discredit Eli for his short comings in the regular season. Which one is more important?
Nah. If anyone knows this team it's that they are horrible at putting offenses together. Eli would have easily had a better win loss record with any other franchise that knew how to put a team together.

Molly said it. You can’t tell the story of the NFL without talking about Eli Manning. He’s top 10-15 in almost every major stat for QB’s , most passing yards in a single post season, never missed a game, and took 2 Super Bowl MVP’s away from the GOAT on top of it. Cmon now.

@@The_ch0sen0ne5 aarons a perfect example of showing how hard it is to win 2 super bowls. He hasn’t been back.. we talk about how much championships matter. And he led his team to TWO Super Bowl mvps
@@coliniturralde2373 The defense won those 2 SBs and an argument can be made that Eli won MVP in those games is because he is the QB and his last name is Manning. It's not like Eli scored 30 points. Not even high 20s. "Name all the players who’ve won 2 Super Bowl mvps" is not an argument. That implies that it trumps everything. In other words, had Eli went 50-200 and led the NFL in INTs 12 times, the fact that he won 2 SBs makes him a lock 1st ballot HOF.
Eli Manning: A Hall of Famer Who Could Have Had Even More Rings Eli Manning’s career is a testament to resilience, talent, and clutch performances, but it’s also a story of untapped potential held back by the very organization he devoted himself to. There’s no denying that Eli’s greatness shined through in the biggest moments, delivering two Super Bowl victories and two Super Bowl MVPs. Yet, it’s hard not to wonder: how many more rings could Eli have won if he had been part of a better-run organization? The Giants’ Dysfunctional Management For much of Eli’s 16-year career, the New York Giants struggled to build a team around him. While he began his career with a solid foundation, poor decisions in the draft, constant coaching changes, and an inability to protect him with a reliable offensive line became recurring themes. After the 2011 Super Bowl victory, the franchise’s downward spiral became even more evident, with inconsistent leadership and questionable personnel decisions derailing any chance at sustained success. Consider the fact that the Giants often left Eli with a porous offensive line, limited skill players, and a defense that was a shadow of its former self. In a league where quarterbacks like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning thrived in stable environments, Eli had to fight through dysfunction nearly every season. Wasted Prime Years Eli’s prime years were squandered by the Giants’ inability to field competitive teams. From 2012 to 2018, the team failed to provide him with the support needed to capitalize on his talents. Offensive line issues forced Eli to constantly play under pressure, while the defense became one of the worst in the league. Those wasted seasons robbed Eli of the chance to compete for additional championships, despite his ability to rise to the occasion when the stakes were high. A Look at What Could Have Been If Eli had played for an organization that consistently built around him, there’s little doubt he would have more rings. Imagine Eli with the kind of stability Brady enjoyed in New England or the offensive weapons that surrounded Peyton Manning in Indianapolis and Denver. His knack for performing in the clutch and excelling under pressure could have translated to multiple deep playoff runs in a better environment. Proof of the Giants’ Problems: The Present Day Even now, the Giants’ dysfunction continues to drive stars out the door. Saquon Barkley, one of the most talented running backs in the league, has expressed frustration with the team’s direction. Daniel Jones, the presumed franchise quarterback, is faltering under the same chaotic conditions Eli endured for years. These issues aren’t new-they’re the same obstacles that Eli overcame throughout his career, often single-handedly keeping the Giants relevant. Eli’s Legacy Eli Manning didn’t just overcome these challenges; he thrived in moments where others would have crumbled. His two Super Bowl wins are proof of his ability to rise above the chaos, but they also leave us wondering how much more he could have achieved with a competent organization. Eli Manning isn’t just a Hall of Famer because of what he accomplished; he’s a Hall of Famer because of what he could have accomplished if the Giants hadn’t held him back. Two rings might have been just the beginning.
All that is almost pure fantasy. The Giants held him back? Eli literally could not win a game if his defense gave up 21 points, the NFL average. He only won 26% of those game that they did. That is just the average.
@ explain what’s pure fantasy have you actually looked at Eli’s numbers? Also have you seen the history of how the NY Giants protect their quarterback? They don’t.
@@theImperiumofMan A QB is easier to protect if he is a threat. Not a threat? He's going to see a lot of blitzes. After 16 years of below average stats, you would think that Giants fans would look at the one guy that was really holding them back. You can blame the receivers, the line, the coaches, but in the end, it was Eli that had the most influence and he just was not that good.
No he did it twice 4 years apart that’s hard to do which is why I say Tom is the goat he won 3 then a whole nother 10 years goes by and he grabs another one and got 2 more after that when u do it in any shape or form your immortal to the football world but doing it with a entirely different team then your first is All time that should get him in

I think Eli Manning should be a SECOND-year inductee, not First-Ballot First-ballot should be reserved for the Tom Brady's, the Deion Sanders, the Walter Payton's of the world Eli had two seasons where he over-achieved, which is one more season than Joe Flacco Winning 2 Super Bowls, and owning Tom Brady, definitely gets you in, but let's calm down.....
Do more research on Eli. His first year as a starter he was top 5 in TDs and yards. Yall dismiss everything but the 2 SB runs. He's a first ballot HOFer, his resume speaks to that

The way QB are judged are just stupid. How many players on a NFL team? A QB cant single handily take a team to the playoffs like a NBA player. Eli played on some bad teams. He is in the Top 10 in of all time in major QB statistics. And he might possibly have 3 rings if Plaxico didnt shoot himself. They were 10-1 when that happened. The way it looked nobody was stopping them.
He would be a first ballot if they won some games in his last 3 seasons or so. The team was terrible and he started ruining his win loss ratio. He still gets in, 2 time mvp in the superbowl gets it done.

to me being a Hall of Famer means leaving your legacy out there on the field BUT also in the locker room, for the organization, for your own name. One point people leave out often in other media is that Eli had 210 consecutive starts, showing his dedication to the game and ability to fight through injury (this dude ATE sacks). As well as his image off the field when he played, and now during present times, Eli is pretty well known as a "figure" of sports. Dude has 2 superbowl wins against arguably the greatest Dynasty ever; his playoff stats during BOTH runs were fantastic. We judge players for MVP based solely on regular season play, but all players care about mostly is winning the chip. Eli has "mediocre to great" overall stats, not enough ever for a MVP, but he has an incredible post season resume, with the 2X NFC Championships, 2X Superbowl Champ, 2x Superbowl MVP.....welcome to the Hall of Fame.
What? Jim Plunkett threw 34 more interceptions than TDs in his career. That’s an automatic disqualification 😂 he had a career completion percentage of 52%. Yall really don’t like Eli huh? Plus Eli has 2 Super Bowl MVPs. Let’s stop the hate

@HopefulNihilist give Philip Rivers to Tom Coughlin he would probably win those 2 superbowls because they were team efforts while Manning would probably miss the playoffs almost every seasons and definitely not reaching the superbowl with the chargers
Peyton Manning has two SB's, but really has won one. That last SB was the Broncos, and that defense. I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan n I consider Eli a 1st ballot HoFer without a doubt! First off football is a team game, QBs/players don't win or lose games; teams win n lose games. Eli being on teams that didn't make the playoffs isn't relevant cuz the Giants aren't on the ballot. Eli didn't beat Brady in the SBs his team won, the Giants beat the Pats so that's not an argument for him being a first ballot HoFer. Eli started over 200 consecutive reg season games(this means he's good enough to be 1 of only 32 ppl that can be a starting QB); he's a 2x SB MVP; in the 2 SB runs as the QB for the Giants they were 8-0; Eli's TD-INT ratio was 15-2 in those runs; he led the game winning drive in both SBs; in the 2 drives Eli went 10-15 with 2 TDs; the Giants beat teams that were part of a dynasty.
People add way too many arguments where they shouldn't exist when it comes to debating certain topics in sports. Stephen A. is absolutely right about Eli Manning. He isn't a lock for the Hall of Fame. The points Stephen A. brought up proved it.
84.1 career QBR, not 1 fullnseason with single didget INTs, led the NFL multiple years in INTs, won 50% of his games, and his 2 MVP SB games, the score was 17- 14 and 21-17... Sounds like a winning QB participation trophy if you ask me. 👍
Eli didn’t beat Brady twice in the superbowl… Eli’s defense did. It’s easy to win and have game winning drives when your defense holds the opponent to 14 pts & then 17 pts and all you have to do is score more than 14 pts & 17 pts. I can tell the story of the 2000s without Eli, I just can’t tell it without the giants stopping an undefeated season but I can tell it without Eli per se.
Brady is the goat but he was below average on his standards on those two SB. Why are we acting that Eli beat a brady on his A game. Brady was struggling in those games because the defense got his number.
@ Brady wasn’t horrible but he wasn’t at his best. The WR got locked up especially moss, Welker was actually open in the first superbowl but NY was getting a lot of coverage sacks. The 2nd Super Bowl i think Brady got happy feet a lot missing throws, the Welker drop was bad but Brady threw the ball way too high
NFL's Ultimate Goal: The primary objective for any player or team in the NFL is to win the Lombardi Trophy. Eli achieved this twice, which sets him apart from many quarterbacks often considered superior based on stats alone. 2. Super Bowl Performances: Eli didn’t just win two Super Bowls-he was named MVP in both games. This cements his role as the driving force behind those victories. His first championship came against the 2007 New England Patriots, who were 18-0 and arguably the greatest team in NFL history until Eli led the Giants to one of the biggest upsets ever. His second victory, four years later, also came against Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, widely regarded as the greatest quarterback-coach duo in NFL history. No other QB has beaten them in the Super Bowl twice. 3. Clutch Factor: Eli’s legacy is built on his postseason heroics. Time and again, he elevated his game when it mattered most. Plays like the David Tyree helmet catch in Super Bowl XLII and the sideline dime to Mario Manningham in Super Bowl XLVI epitomize his ability to deliver under pressure. 4. Comparison to Others: Dan Marino is a statistical legend, but he never won a Super Bowl. Warren Moon’s playoff success was limited, never making it past the second round. Even Peyton Manning, as great as he was, needed his defense to carry him in his second Super Bowl win, and he never defeated Brady-Belichick on the grand stage. Drew Brees only has one ring. Eli’s unique combination of postseason success, Super Bowl MVPs, and beating the "GOATs" twice stands out. 5. Criticism and Misplaced Focus on Stats: Many critics argue against Eli’s Hall of Fame credentials due to his regular-season stats, particularly his interceptions and inconsistency. However, as you point out, stats mean little if they don’t lead to championships. Rings are the ultimate measure of greatness in the NFL. 6. First-Ballot Hall of Famer: While some detractors may downplay his achievements, his impact on the game and his clutch performances under the brightest lights make a strong case for Eli to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. Eli Manning’s legacy is about stepping up when it mattered most, achieving what others couldn’t, and doing it against the best. That’s why his place in NFL history-and Canton-shouldn’t be in doubt.
Comparing Jeter to manning at the end was absolutely ABSURD. When people talk about the top 5 best shortstops to ever play, Jeter is at least mentioned. When people talk about the TOP 20 QBS TO EVER PLAY… Eli manning is never going to be mentioned ever.
Kurt Warner got in on the third ballot and Kurt was a SB champion, a two time NFL MVP, multiple all pro, and he was third ballot. At no time in his career was Eli ever considered a top 3 QB.
I've rarely seen SAS that inconsistent. That is the EXACT same case he is making against the cowboys on 365 days a year. "That's not how champions talk...". 2 Rings... so the regular seasons dont matter. But... he is right on the eye test. There were many better QBs, but Eli was clutch af.
Where in the Hall of Fame requirement does it state that one ought to beat Tom Brady and the Patriots in order to qualify for the Hall of Fame.? That might be the most ridiculous argument ever. The Hall of Fame has existed long before Tom Brady was even born, and they never used him as a measuring stick. The Hall of Fame is about the whole body of work not just “moments” or “beating the Patriots”
Nick foles had to beat a tom brady with his A++ game. Eli had to beat a bad brady.. Think about it. Brady has scored more points in one SB against NF than 2 SB against Eli. So yeah if beating brady is the standard, NF did it better.

And I think that I’m not alone on that one

I've never been a huge fan of Eli's. The first time I watched him outside of a score ticker or highlights was against LSU, and he was awful. If the Chargers had drafted him, I think he would have had a Blake Bortles type career. His defense and running backs are what got him his Super Bowls. He never went out there and threw for 400 yards and 5 TDs to win games, so I would say he doesn't belong.
These people must not have watched all the wild ints he threw in the regular season or him play at all. Just talk about him beating Brady. He didn’t beat Brady he beat Bill. Would this be a conversation if David Tyree drops that ball? Doubtful.
So that’s why he won finals mvp? In fact. How many superbowls has ANY quarterback won throwing 400 yards and 5TDs? How many times has Brady or Peyton done that in a superbowl?

Here’s the thing with Eli Manning. He doesn’t deserve the NFL Hall of Fame at all because in his overall NFL career, sucked in general, pretty much because in his regular season career, he was terrible BUT I will say this, Eli Manning is BY FAR is the best playoff player in NFL history, by far the best Super Bowl player in NFL history and quite frankly the by far the best postseason player in NFL history. For some reason he just couldn’t play like that in the regular season. Eli Manning: A Hall of Famer Who Could Have Had Even More Rings
Eli Manning’s career is a testament to resilience, talent, and clutch performances, but it’s also a story of untapped potential held back by the very organization he devoted himself to. There’s no denying that Eli’s greatness shined through in the biggest moments, delivering two Super Bowl victories and two Super Bowl MVPs. Yet, it’s hard not to wonder: how many more rings could Eli have won if he had been part of a better-run organization?
The Giants’ Dysfunctional Management
For much of Eli’s 16-year career, the New York Giants struggled to build a team around him.
Wasted Prime Years
Eli’s prime years were squandered by the Giants’ inability to field competitive teams.
A Look at What Could Have Been
If Eli had played for an organization that consistently built around him, there’s little doubt he would have more rings. Imagine Eli with the kind of stability Brady enjoyed in New England or the offensive weapons that surrounded Peyton Manning in Indianapolis and Denver. His knack for performing in the clutch and excelling under pressure could have translated to multiple deep playoff runs in a better environment.
Proof of the Giants’ Problems: The Present Day
Even now, the Giants’ dysfunction continues to drive stars out the door.
Eli’s Legacy
Eli Manning didn’t just overcome these challenges; he thrived in moments where others would have crumbled.
I blame the coaches and front office. Never had a good offensive line after his 2 superbowls. So what are you talking about?

4. Comparison to Others:
Dan Marino is a statistical legend, but he never won a Super Bowl.

Wdym now? Dan Marino is an all time legend and hof who never won a ring. Brees only has 1, Favre only has 1, I could keep going
@@Kevin.Costner. he missed the playoffs in over half his years
Comparing Jeter to manning at the end was absolutely ABSURD. When people talk about the top 5 best shortstops to ever play, Jeter is at least mentioned. When people talk about the TOP 20 QBS TO EVER PLAY… Eli manning is never going to be mentioned ever.
While we are at it let's throw in Nick Foles and Joe Flacco in the HOF as 1st ballot SMH!!
Exactly. Good runs don’t mean hall of fame which was stephen a’s exact point
Right.
Personally I think Nick Foles is better than Eli.
SAS should've slapped Dan before walking away.... The audacity! The gaul!
That walk off was warranted when it comes to Jeter 😂
i mean wth comparing the greatest short stop of all time
Kurt Warner got in on the third ballot and Kurt was a SB champion, a two time NFL MVP, multiple all pro, and he was third ballot. At no time in his career was Eli ever considered a top 3 QB.
The real question is why are we listening to Dan Orlovski??
I've rarely seen SAS that inconsistent. That is the EXACT same case he is making against the cowboys on 365 days a year. "That's not how champions talk...". 2 Rings... so the regular seasons dont matter. But... he is right on the eye test. There were many better QBs, but Eli was clutch af.
He was the only QB at one point that beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl not once but twice
Right
That's laughable. 1st ballot HOF for being TB12 kryptonite, rofl.
that defense beat Brady

2 rings and 2 Super Bowl mvps. End of debate
It is a debate and if it's a debate than you not a first ballot of famer buddy
@ everyone who is a multiple time Super Bowl MVP is a first ballot.
@@yokhurram1983 in your eyes but not reality buddy
Back when Max was on, there was an ICONIC debate on this topic.
Dan bringing up Derek Jeter is crazy
“Don’t tell me it’s a lock !” Was SAS point lmao
Can't be a hall of famer based on just two months of great play. Sorry.
Led his team to two Super Bowls with some of the best playoff performances in all of history. Thats enough said. It shouldn't be a debate.
Mollys voice hurts my ears
hahhhahahhahhhah Stephen A's face at the beginning look like someone gave him the only unglazed Krispy Kreme donut out the dozen
Stand your ground, Stephen A. You’re absolutely right. Eli Manning wasn’t a very good QB who appears to win two rings with a very good defense and great play by his part, I can’t pretend he didn’t play very well during those runs. However, I cannot just brush aside how pedestrian he looked for the vast majority of his career just because of these moments. This isn’t the Hall of Charity for the average or very good, you’re supposed to be a transcendent talent with a transcendent career and I just don’t see that with him. And I think that I’m not alone on that one
the list of two time Super Bowl MVPs is the only stat you need, and Eli is on that list
Jim Plunkett is on that list too and he's not in the HOF? Just because you win rings don't mean you're a hall of famer look at Dan Marino He has none and he's in the hall of fame.
@@JohnOMalley-c6s you can argue with me all you want. Eli beat the greatest football team to ever play in the Super Bowl, and to this day still holds the postseason QB records. He’ll be a first ballot hall of famer because you can’t tell the story of the NFL without ELI MANNING. Go kick rocks
@@JohnOMalley-c6s and plunkett only won MVP the second time they won the superbowl Marcus Allen was the MVP.
Good job ESPN for highlighting a reply with a stat that’s not real
As an eagles fan who has been watching since Eli debuted for the Giants, I can honestly say I always enjoyed Philly playing Eli’s Giants. He had some clutch plays but he was laughable a lot of times, too. I never feared him.
Lmao ummm Eli had plenty of games where he put the team on his back
These people must not have watched all the wild ints he threw in the regular season or him play at all. Just talk about him beating Brady. He didn’t beat Brady he beat Bill. Would this be a conversation if David Tyree drops that ball? Doubtful.
@ he played in a system where they took high risk throws and timing was crucial between him and the recievers
So that’s why he won finals mvp? In fact. How many superbowls has ANY quarterback won throwing 400 yards and 5TDs? How many times has Brady or Peyton done that in a superbowl?
@@toptiertech7291 so just finals mvp makes him a hall of famer? dude overachieves twice and all of a sudden he's 1st ballot lmao
I’m 100 billion percent behind Stephen a on this topic
SAS was right to walk away when Dan tried to bring up Jeter. Smh. This being a question in the first place proves his point that it's not a lock.
Orlovsky said Eli beat rodgers twice when he only beat him once in 2011 then the next time the giants made the playoffs in 2016 they got BEAT by rodgers after Odell and them went on that boat cruise w Trey Songz and others, had to correct him there
Sometimes I wonder why is Molly there ? She talks but says nothing
Luke Kuechly, Adam Vinatieri, & Terrell Suggs are the only one I would put as a lock for First Ballot Hall of Fame in this class.
Man who asked molly🤨. Please be quiet
I agree with something Dion Sanders said, “Hall of Famers “ used to be “Game changers “ Eli in my humble opinion was never that.
He literally did so bad in his regular season career, that the two time Super Bowl champion and mvp doesn’t even come close to deserving the Hall of Fame. Sorry but it’s the truth.
If he becomes 1st ballot, it will water down the HOF tremendously.
Agreed. Did a great job in crunch time with a very good team around him. Regular season Eli was unspectacular. Not a first ballot.
The entire back half of his career he had horrible teams
@randymoss789 Those defenses were how he beat the Patriots. What are you talking about?
@ then why was he the MVP in both superbowls???? lol yall kill me with that, how many teams you know actually win superbowls with a great defense and a bad QB???? He didn’t even have a top defense those years he won the superbowl lol.
@randymoss789 umm the ravens for 1. Trent Dilfer is a Super Bowl winning QB 😂
@randymoss789 he beat the pats 17 to 14. Only 14 points given up. You think that was Eli? Please tell me you watched that game.
The Dan Orlovsky death stare 2:45 😂
Eli Manning is a 2 time SB MVP and he beat the greatest team ever assembled the 2007 Patriots, stop with the BS 💩 he's a first ballot HOF
He only made 4 pro bowls and led the league in interceptions multiple times
.nobody cares how many probowls he made he's a 2 time SB winner
@YuriBoris-s8u you need to make more pro bowls
@@YuriBoris-s8u so Jim Plunkett should be in the Hall of Fame then since he won 2 Super Bowls. Shady McCoy should be in the Hall of Fame since he won two Super Bowls.
@miketrick4638 shady was a part of the team that won a SB Eli Manning actually won 2 SB MVP he beat 15-1 Pakers the 14-2 49ers and his first SB was even more magical
This is Steven. I putting the fact that this is a debate show way before what he knows is a good Sports take
Nope not first ballot
With these metrics Joe Flacco will be a HOFer eventually.
Eli should be a 1st ballot and if he’s not you’re moving the goal post *again*
@DieHardKidd 1f Eli gets in on his 1st year of eligible then Tony Romo gets into the HOF
Stephen A is right with this one. “Lock” is crazy work not crazy crazy but crazy.
