- All hope is lost during a fire and Casey says goodbye to Dawson before Boden decides to use the water canons with his men still inside a burning building.
Season 6 Episode 1 "It Wasn't Enough"
With most of Firehouse 51 still trapped in the warehouse fire, Boden makes a split decision and uses water cannons in order to save his men despite the dangers caused by the resulting steam. Two months later, Casey, along with Mouch and the rest of the Firehouse survives. Casey receives a Medal of Valor and it is revealed he is being considered for promotion to Captain; Casey's view on the matter is that he has had enough politics. Meanwhile, Dawson's father moves out without notice and finds employment once more. Meanwhile, Mouch returns to 51 with a new fitness persona. Also, Brett reunites with a childhood friend by the name of Hope, who strikes up a relationship with Severide. A teacher gets burned in a fire at the high school where Boden's wife, Donna, recently started working at. Donna later reveals that the fire was not an accident.

That's one of the only things wrong with this is the fact they aren't wearing the balaclavas. They would have kept herman from being burnt ( to an extent)

Hermann's commitment to saving mouch is unbelievable. Screaming in agony, covered in second degree burns, he just kept doing cpr even as he was nearly cooked alive. Casey just barely survived himself, slowly running out of air under the bin he used to shield them from the steam. Its a miracle they all survived.
Christopher Herman was far more deserving of receiving that medal of valour/honour!
He risked his own life by covering Mouch with his body.
He continued cpr even though he was being drenched in boiling water.
That's a true hero and sincere friend to have in your life!
He should get a promotion and a badge for sure

@@LM-ks5gd since the place was on fire and they sprayed the building with the hose, when the water mixed with the fire it started boiling so if you touched the water you would get really burnt because the water is really hot from the fire.

Can we talk about how Hermann kept doing CPR while he was literally being boiled. He looked like a machine, it was the only thing on his mind.

I read the title and cry and cry even more during the fire but when I see him alive, I'm so happy
Omg this was so emotional. I felt so bad for Gabi and for Mouch. I didn't think Casey was going to die, I was so worried about Mouch because I really thought he was going to die from that heart-attack. Thank God Herrman was there to help him. this whole episode was so intense I was so freaked out and there was a lot of tears from me!

Casey got promoted cuz he did some crazy stuff all over the shuw like when he safed gabby from the hospital where was an explosion or when he saved the girl and the boy from the acid

As the widow of a firefighter this show tries to show the public what it means to do that job please never take these courageous people for granted firefighting is such a dangerous occupation I know I paid the price

When Casey was awarded that medal of Valour it made me so proud of not only him but his Brothers and Sisters in the firefighters he is with but also the Heroism of the Brothers and Sisters who fight the fires on a daily basis

When i watched the full episode of this I cried with my mum and we were crying because Mouch had a heart attack, Casey said “Gabby, U were the best thing that ever happened to me... Goodbye” and when the chief pulled off the thing that was over Casey he yelled and screamed so I started crying even more because I thought that he was dead😭and when they called him the leader of truck 81 I thought that was his funeral😖😭

The noise that Boden heard at 3:39 was the alarm on the radio device thing that they use to communicate. If your fighting a fire and you stop moving and stay still for a few mins it the alarm will go off in hopes to alert another firefighter. So when he heard the noise he knew that he was near one of the firefighters. Side note- Idk if anyone has already commented about this or not. I’m not trying to copy anyone. 🤣

It's not on the "radio device thing that they use to communicate" it's often integrated into the SCBA and it's called a PASS device.
