"@drhaxknows6021 I know you're a zombie and everything but we really need you here to work." I deleted my joking comment before this because I got one for ya and my own true story, too.............4 hours before my shift started, I called my manager to tell her I wouldn't be able to work that night. Over the phone, her sarcasm was absolutely biting as she said, "And I supposed it's because you're sick?" and I had the (now) privilege of responding quietly.........................................."No, it's because my mum just died".
Even as he knew he was dying himself, he reached out to offer the last bit of humanity he had to someone else. That's a man, there. A real man. Good show.
@OfficialTLYRZ perhaps. But we don't judge the measure of a metaphysical "real woman" in the same way as a "real man". The attributes we look for in those we define as "men among men" are different from those of women. There is no definitive trait for an equivalent "woman among women" that I'm aware of.
Wow, fantastic work here! This doesn't rely on gory visuals to pad the plot; it's pure acting, realistic scripting, and a determined young man finding his soul again in his final hours. A hero for our generation: the burnt-out wage worker, who throws the corporation to the wind and stands his ground for what is right.
Thanks Scott, hearing you call him a hero for our generation means the world. Love your interpretation of the protagonist, too! I was possessed to write a lead that embodied my frustrations with the world's cold reaction to the mass deaths of COVID-19, and I think the actor nailed the performance!
Reminds me of the 20 year old lady who was the last one reporting on a tsunami before her building got hit, making sure everyone got to safety and had everyone in her team clinging onto the radio mast on the roof to try to survive it. She attended the mic inside...
It's like a bit of humanity stirs right there at the end; his last act was to help, and it's the strongest recent memory he has, so he feels the instinct to try and help again. Kind of like Andy the gun shop owner in Dawn of The Dead; even in an undead state, there's some degree of a person in there. Excellent film.
In this world, the Zombie epidemic has been established, even commercialized & integrated into bureaucratic + corporate strata. It is essential to remember this ~ that & there being a nobody with a 'dead-end' job. The only other hint is a hand-drawn picture: "Super Me". A tense film, drama with suspenseful moments, & a glimpse of a world turning undead while civilization's humanity erodes. Bravo, Mr. Pages.
I always scorned stories of men so dedicated to their post that the refused to abandon it even in the face of certain death (captains going down with the ship, Casey jones the Engineer, etc) but this, this was a man who used his last mortal moments to save the life of one more person.
Lol telling a supervisor that the customer is gonna cancel service or leave a bad review was a way I would help customers when I used to work for a cellphone/internet provider.
Couldn't they review any of your calls if they noticed an inordinate amount of thosevrequests coming from you? Not doubting you, just curious as to how you managed to evade getting in trouble for REALLY "helping" your callers?
Brilliant from beginning to end you could really feel for Lucy and that a small bond between two strangers is so gripping wonderful job, and Romero road, lol, kudos!!!!
This is a masterpiece. You didn‘t try to do too much, completely skipped the scene of the outbreak in the calm centre because it wasn‘t needed and it was a better film because of it. Genius, doing so much with so little. I was hooked for every second
this is a breath of fresh air from movie studios completely misunderstanding what we want. I loved this and i really enjoyed the acting and the makeup(? or maybe cgi) that was used for creating the zombie effect near to the end
Amazing work, and compliments to both Joe Bence and Jessica Stamp for their performances. This felt almost more like theater than a movie due to the tension and emotions carried in the dialogues. The sheer sobriety of the finale is very touching too. Fantastic!
I love the details with the pictures in the book of different ways to kill zombies. the bite on his hand looks awesome and loved the "threatening to leave a bad review" LOL!
Really really nice work! Been a Customer Service Agent myself....it's a hard job, when you're dealing with normal people...but this would be hell indeed^^
This is best zombie film I have ever seen and there wasn't even zombies seen till the very end. And I absolutely love how he didn't give up till Lucy was safe even as he himself was dying.
BRAVO! Mr.Pages! And Mr. Bence, Stunning performance, I was on the edge of my seat, hair on the back of my neck standing straight up at the finish. Left me wanting more. Thanks to you all for this amazing creation. Peace.
I love how they commercialised the zombie apocalypse 😂😂😂 That's so human... and the guy that yells "Geeze Steven you look like hell- oh shitee!!!" 😂😂😂😂
Was going on a zombie short film marathon and this was one of the most memorable ones. It showed humanity in it's most heroic to help another. I consider that guy a real hero. The question is would this character have shown as much commitment if it wasn't his condition that may have influenced him. At first when he said jump Lucy. I thought he was trying to get her to end her life or something. It was a good drama scenario.
Thanks to everyone for all of the amazing and productive feedback. It's been an awesome journey and I can't wait to see where we can take the concept next. Like and subscribe to find out!🤘📽🖤 UPDATE: Wow 100K views?! You guys rule
Fantastic short film! Well done.👏 I hope the right people see this and fund your next project. I'm sure that you could create something even more amazing if given a bigger budget to work with. Keep up the great work.👍
This was absolutely amazing. Heartbreaking. I wanted (as I'm sure most did), for Neville to survive). Better than most full length films. 🖤 From Australia
@@harrypages-filmmaker6003 Thanking you! Instantly subbed. Honestly this was so moving. To pull this off with 1 visible actor & the other protagonist's voice (+soldiers at outpost), off camera, was brilliant. I appreciate your commitment. 🙂🎬
Awesome! I have seen a lot of zombie "stuff" and this was just wonderful. Survival Services and Operators, a rating system with stars :) just grand. Thanks for the short it was great.
The guy playing Nev does a good job, although the whole thing could benefit from being more subtle, and the ending was kinda funny which is how i like my zombies, Over all pretty good, relavent topic, clearly high effort. 8/10 nice job.
Awesome Movie. You couldn't see what was happening to Lucy, but a picture was painted through good storytelling and acting. The customer review part made me laugh. That sounded like a little social commentary on the growing selfish inhumanity of people today.
Well done! An out-of-the-ordinary tale, very well acted and directed, great sound, certainly deserves wide exposure on all the appropriate online platforms. Kudos!
Very well done, would like to have seen more outside scenes too with switching back to where the young woman was with her mom etc..., Cant wait to see much more.
Love all the Romero Easter eggs even the window in the bathroom from DOTD 2003 this is a wonderful peek in to the Romero zombieverse....great job 😀 👍 👌 😊
Man,it's bad enough being a regular emergency call handler but imagine if your speciality was the potential reanimation of the dead... I doubt i could do it..
