I love these old SOTT vids! It was these old hiking videos that reignited my interest in backpacking after a twenty year hiatus. And now look at where we’ve been and what we’ve done! You showed me a new way of doing things and kind of a new approach to hiking. Thanks for that, Paul and thanks for being such a good friend. Im looking forward to hiking with you again in the future.

Wow man, I can't believe you watched this old video, lol. this seems like such a long time ago. This was the first night I ever used the Thermarest pad, the one I've had on all of our hikes. Plus, the very next day was the day I found Jackie B. It's hard to believe I've had him over 8 years now. I'm happy some of the things I've learned along the way were also able to help you out in some way. I'm glad you had the guts to come to Arizona and attempt the AZT or we would've never done all those cool hikes! I can't wait for the next one, I'm hoping you can work out the GET!!! Let's do this thang!!!!!

Wow, that's too cool!!! These trails have such interesting histories. That's one of the coolest spots on this section.

Thanks for these vids. I attempted a thru-hike of the AT and damaged my knees pushing too hard through the Smokies. It has taken a year of rehabbing to even think about doing it again. I wanted to do the OT to see if I could handle another AT attempt. Again thanks for taking the time to make these vids.

Thanks for watching! I've never attempted one of the long trails (yet) but I also had knee problems on the OHT. I was definitely overloaded and the downhill was killing me towards the end. I promised myself that I would not hike a long distance again until I could take some of the weight out of my pack. It's been a slow expensive process.
Thanks Again!! I hope you make it back out there!

Thanks for watching!! I started at the Hwy N Trailhead near Johnson Shut-ins State Park and there is a big parking lot there. I hope you have a great hike!!
