Thanks again from Japan有難う。 I went to see a special concert by Band-Maid & The Warning on June 12 in Tokyo. I was in a seat on 2nd floor but in front of the drum set !!!! What a bliss! Paulina and Akane literally and happily competed to see which drummer can break their bass drum first in the joint finale The Warning, the opener, performed so powerful that it looked to me that the Maids were fired up to start their turn as a hostess band. It was 150% energetic throughout their performance including that new song "Show Them". I witnessed "From Now On" performed live four times with this MV quality in Japan and dropped my jaw four times . I believe so did many of American audience in their three US tours in 2022 & 2023. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at festivals and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!"
@@donepearce not really, the other "newer" bands I listen to I don't really need to watch the videos because I already know I'll buy their CDs. With BAND-MAID reactors it's simply the pure love of and enjoyment of seeing people discover my absolute favorite band. The only other Japanese group I support is Nemophila. 🎵☮️🙂
@@robertfournier2804 OK, I get that. I have a similar thing. Although these are far from my favourite band I always enjoy seeing people's first response to the manic energy of BabyMetal.
That's too bad you guys are missing out on a great Band. The Warning write the best songs of anyone since The Beatles. Best Riffs, Vocal Harmonies, song depth. I tried Band-Maid - I like them but only so much.😢
Many of us saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. The DB’s matched the BPM’s! So FROM NOW ON, Band-Maid will grow in popularity even faster as their awesome, sold out 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR wrapped up at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26 and at Hong Kong. AND they’re writing and recording for their new album! The Maids are one of the hardest working supergroups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids... and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE! Thx, B-Drag!
Great Job!!!....Bearded Dragon i really enjoyed your reaction looking forward to more....i have a request for another Band-Maid instrumental the under reacted too... Dawn Winery Theme 'memories of wind and wine'.....or "onset" live....see ya next time
@@B-Drags-DenI love Band - Maid. If you Abandoned The Warning That will be Sad. Band-Maid is special in their own way and The Warning in Theirs. That's why they are Busting Through To Stardom. The Warning Can really help Band-Maid....
I agree that it’s a great way to appreciate them as musicians and composers. “From Now On” is a statement piece. There’s a reason they often choose to open festivals with this. Few people know them there. They are making judgments based solely on their choice of wardrobe. This song completes the message. “Yes, we are cute and fun. And we rock!”
Yes, you sure did hear piano, Kanami, the lead guitar was trained in classical piano from when she was very young. It is her playing the piano tracks added to their songs. Such a talented group of ladies. From what I understand, Kanami normally records her original song composition on piano and sends it to the other members to get their take and input prior to completing the composition.
If I remember correctly, Akane also took piano lessons when she was young. She became a drummer because she had a complex about her small hands. By the way, many female bands in Japan have experience playing piano. Not to long ago, statistics showed that 25% of children were taking piano or swimming lessons.
MISA also composes her parts first on piano and then transforms it to bass. She then sends her composition to Saiki and Kanami. She has stated the she sends her composition to Saiki to make sure it's easy to song with and because Saiki praises her.
"Onset", the official live video, is another Band-Maid instrumental. It's a lot of fun to watch. It shows that, yes, Band-Maid can do great instrumentals live.
Thanks for the reaction. Any doubts about their musicianship is removed after watching this video. This is masterclass composition performed by world class musicians. Enough said. Cheers!
Can't sneak this in on us late, it's just too good! Band-Maid always does a great job in their instrumental songs! Other instrumentals include "Without Holding Back", "Onset", "Don't Be Long" and the others mentioned in the comments. A song that has both a instrumental version as well as one with lyrics is "Giovanni", and it really is stunning how different it is when the lyrics are removed! The instrumentals are put into Band-Maid sets to give the singer a vocal break, along with a Miku lead song like "Time" or "Sayonakdori" and "Rock in Me", then Omajinai time, or Magic Spell Time in English, where Miku casts a spell on the audience to make them like Band-Maid even more and it's a hold over from her time when she worked in the Maid Café, and is charming and fun. Giving you some ideas for more songs to look for, in case you didn't notice, lol!
Kanami composes an instrumental the same as a vocal song, but with her guitar providing the melody line and the odd piano fill. The Akane drum fill near the beginning is 4 seconds of shear drum magic- hands or feet, makes no difference.
There are no official live videos for "From Now On", which is fine with me. This official music video really gives the viewer insight into Kanami's technical skills (as well as MISA and Akane's).
The shredding is base 80s metal with contemporary songwriting on top. Also, not a big fan of extended solos by themselves but love solos within songs here. When they're playing back and forth riffing off each other🔥🔥🔥 If someone in the comments know that trimmed back acoustic studio set they did, dive in on those. You can really hear their precision.

When I saw them in 2022, while Saiki had a drink break, they played "Onset" and "From Now On" and Syonakidori in a row. It was outstanding.
