Cuphead is a single player or co-op run and gun platformer, heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by 1930s cartoons, the visuals are hand drawn and inked and the music is all original jazz recordings. Cuphead & Mugman traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and uncover hidden secrets.

After this we need a game based on the cheap Hannah Barbara cartoons of the 60's. Cheap repeating backgrounds and neck concealing collars everywhere!
I'd say 50s would be better (Rooty Toot Toot, Toot Whistle Plunk and Boom etc). Then there would be more abstract experiments than just cheap costs.
We need a game that imitates Spumco/Ren & Stimpy style of animation. The insanity would melt TV sets the world over.
You may be on to something since Galak-Z, a 2d shooter with a old 70/80 anime look is coming out in a few month.

Fact about M. Fang:It was an old weapon that got removed from the game or renamed as one of the shots today.
Fact about demon bat:it was an unused boss or phrase of the devil, but phrase 2 was skipped as it says in the code of the devil that phrase 2 is actually phrase 3 so demon bat is part of the devil but it was scrapped from the game due to a reason.
TerrificIvan 2017 it is his name. The name that's orange is the weapon, the name that's black is the boss.

This was the coolest looking game I saw at E3. You guys did an awesome job capturing the look and feel of old cartoons. I instantly felt like I was watching all those fun Silly Symphonies and Merrie Melodies shorts again. I wish you guys and your game the best because you certainly deserve it!

Kon If that wink indicates you intend to pirate it, you may want to rethink doing it for certain games. Indie developers could use the money as a "thank you" for their efforts, at the very least. They're dedicating their time as a job, after all. I am super excited for Cuphead. The style is just oozing, and with familiar, comfy gameplay, it's worth every penny, I'd say.

I am very intrigued by the use of 1930's like cartoon animation for this game. Much like I was for the art style used for games like Okami and LOZ: Wind Waker.
Kudos for making use of such an interesting art style for your game, I can certainly get on board with this.
I've been expecting more classic looking games like this since Shovel Knight appeared and man are they coming. Crossing my fingers here for long and numerous chapters, DLC and a sequel! Keep up the damn good work!

Criticism.
Exactly. Criticism was harsh alot on MDHR Studio because they planned Cuphead to be as Bossfight-Only, featuring 30 bosses in the game. Cuse of the critics we got a 2 years delay, 11 bosses less, plus 6 Run N' Gun levels, so the game isnt just bossfights. Theyre planning a DLC too, which will add remaining 11 bosses probably. Hoping for the bugfix update before the DLC, it has good number of bugs and glitches

I like how some of the animations look rather crude, while others perfectly emulate 1930's Fleischer cartoons and made it into the final game.

I like how at least 1 thing in every clip shown in this teaser was eventually cut from the final game. For example, the the bat devil boss was cut, the background for goopy and the weapon used in his fight, the seeds and weapon used in Cagneys fight, it's just great!

The old animation style used here is actually pretty awesome for a game. Taking that style, adding color to it and making it into an interactive experience should make for some good fun.

But it’s the best form of torture me and my sister have ever experienced. Seriously, thank you so much. We’re only on isle 2 and we’re having such a blast! There’s so much charm in not only the animation but the awful puns every time you die(which is pretty much what keeps us going). It’s the best gaming experience I’ve had the pleasure of purchasing, I’ll be on the lookout in case you guys ever make a new game

Just read about it about in Game Informer as well. My other hobby first to videogames is an admiration and hard interest for history. Just about anything to do with the past. This game looks gorgeous. Reminds us of a different time of how they did animation.

wow, this looks amazing. I've seen some comments saying they don't like the filter, but to be honest I think its what sells it the most. They look really credible. I've showed this to as many friends I can, and many said they didn't realize it was a videogame at first so I guess you guys are on the right track. I don't look forward to many games in 2015, but this one sure is on my wishlist already, I'm hoping for more details about gameplay.

Cuphead is "all about the boss, 'bout the boss, no level". That was a sad and horrid pop culture reference, sorry.
But it's true, the game focuses on boss battles. But! they will be varied: some will feel more like a level (scrolling with enemies), some will be schmup style, and some will be based on a few other surprises up our sleeve. We are focusing on having a good balance between variety and TIGHT ASS gameplay. :)

Keep whatever secrets you like. I can't imagine how insanely difficult it must be to animate and have the player control his own character. There's likely no time for you guys to begin to put all your juicy secrets into words.
Trenton Scaife I will say that we love the idea of having tiers of secrets. Some should be found on day one. Other will be found a few days later...but some...ho ho ho...they may never be found (even though they will be hinted at). Think of it as fair, but hard as hell. :)
