George, freeze some of your vegetables if you’re not going to finish them all before they go bad. Re-use the frozen portions in a soup/sauce or something else, later on.
I really enjoy hearing the crew laughing in the background. Makes me laugh a little bit more. Please continue to keep this on the show! Thanks. Still working the snowball but I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm excited! Thanks again.
24:15 ummm, George, I think you should google Apple's mouse. It is the worst! It is flat and ergonomically terrible... and, to charge it, the plug is on the bottom, so when charging, you can't even use it!
I laughed out loud when Rachel said that a $200 bike was too expensive, when I bought one earlier this year for $4000 and thought it was a great deal 🤣🤣
I think the perm one was on a black person and they were talking about straightening and smoothing the hair. So the opposite of what a perm does on a white person.
Rachel is right. They try to get you to buy every product they just used. Glad the guy was happy with his hair, at least. Sounds like he has his own style.
12:00 Maybe I am just efficient but I never understood the whole upselling thing at the end. Like I came here for X, I got X, I would like to now pay for only X and leave. If I wanted Y and Z, I would have asked for Y and Z
24:15 A wired mouse would have prevented this. Also, mouse battery management - when you get the notification, just change the battery, don't wait until.the mouse dies.
My mouse uses standard AA batteries so I have a 4 pack of reusable batteries and a charger. I can just swap the battery out for a fully charged one while I charge the flat battery. I do prefer a wired mouse but I needed an ergonomic left handed mouse so there are fewer options and they get pricey.
I love how they are talking about a couple hundred dollar purchases that they talked themselves out of...but that oversized throw that they sponsored cost $306.00 or $183.60 with the discount. I only say it because I went to buy it...but just couldn't for that price 😆😆
Like anything, you have to think about cost per use. If I'm home I am probably sitting under a blanket so I could totally justify spending that kind of money. But if you live in a warmer climate, heat your home to a higher temperature or overheat easily then you're not going to get your money's worth out of an expensive blanket. I have a friend who lives alone so he barely heats his house at all but uses an electric blanket to keep himself cozy. It works out way cheaper for him to not heat the whole house. I've got 2 huskies and a husband who is built for snow so we keep the heating on at 18°C/64F which is too cold for me. I'm wearing thermals and sat under a blanket right now.
6:48 I did the same and took out 40k from my retirement account for the down payment about three years ago. Thankfully my company is amazing and I had around 200k in retirement. Now I have almost 290k in my retirement and the loan has about 18k left. Slow and steady comeback!
I can relate to No need for that99 man!!! I had an out of body experience getting a FREE facial at a new spa. They started offering me all the products used and my dumba** bought everything!!! I felt like I should because the service was free!! 350$ later 🤦🏼♀️
I understand the Ransey view on credit cards. However for 54 years I've paid them off each month. I like the convenience and I'm not a fan of debit cards. I do get some cash rewards and use the reward money at Christmas.
My husband uses his credit card just for the free insurance on larger purchases. He pays it off every month and it has a really low credit limit considering he also uses it for his small business
Same. They're convenient, I get a bit back in rewards, and they're way easier to deal with when it comes to fraud or other issues. I put basically everything that isn't my rent and student loan payments on a credit card, pay it off in full, and have zero regrets about it.
It is hard when your peer group spends at a higher level than we are living at. Bagged lunch, eating at home when everyone else is going out for lunch and for the evening get togethers.
Willpower is like a muscle, it gets stronger when you exercise it regularly. I've never been the kind of person who eats out or orders in on a work day. I only drink water while at work. Work is where I am on my diet A-game. It took me a long time to get past the alcohol peer pressure but now I'm completely in control of what, when and how much I drink.
I put a 100 dollar straightener on a credit card because my debit card declined. Because, the aggressive sales person got my anxiety riddled people pleasing self. I paid it off and the straightener isn't even very good. I'm still mad about it.
A kindred spirit! 😅 Another pet peeve of mine is when people say "comprises of" when things either "consist of" something or "comprise" something! The tiny things matter to us for no reason and we know hardly anyone else cares, lol, but it's just who we are!
If this had regular commercials like on TV, it is about enough content for a one hour show 😉. They both have multiple roles at Ramsey. If this is what they can give here, I appreciate it.
30yo guy here - I had a nostalgia moment last year and I too justified a purchase for a brand new complete skateboard for my birthday.. all the best parts, $200 plus..needless to say it sadly resides in my cold garage😔
When they were talking about shoulder length hair getting a perm, I was imagining Rachel's shoulder length hair with a Little Orphan Annie curly perm. Yikes! Actually sounded like the guy's perm was more of a hair straightening thing. The way it was written I suspect it was trolling. Guy was making fun of women spending big bucks on their hair.
You and I are doing an action to you and me. The other person is always first. Then decide if the subjects/active people are being mentions (I) or if the person being given something is being mentioned (me).
My bicycle was around $2,500. I have owned it for 12 years. The first 5 years I used it everyday to commute about 6 miles and on weekends I would do recreational 15 mile rides. The next 5 years I used it a few times a month at least. A couple years ago I got it fully serviced for $200 so it's like brand new. I used it on average 200 days a year, every year, in the last 2 years. I'd like to think it was a good investment but maybe I am just gaslighting myself because I couldn't imagine how poor quality a $200 bike would be and a $60 bike sounds completely unhinged.
I don't understand the criticism of credit cards. You won't end up paying high interest rates (like the mentioned 22%) if you pay off the balance on time. Isn't that how it works in the US? I have a credit card with a 60-day grace period, and I use it for all my purchases. I pay off the balance every 10-20 days. So, what's the problem?
The problem is so many people don’t pay them off month to month. They get behind and then the payments sink them. Dont have a cc, you can’t spend the banks money. Ramsey is all about living within your means, restraint in your spending, buy with your own cash.
My ex used my email address for a gym membership and then I was getting the emails when he closed his credit card and they were not able to collect payment. Can I delete him? 🤣
I haven’t been to a hair salon since my 20s. I’m now 60. I didn’t have a ton of money back then and it was the perm decade (the 80s). I just couldn’t keep up with all of that and the high pressure sales for products so I totally empathize for the perm guy, Thankfully I have terrific hair and straight hair has been in for a long time.
I’m sorry…..did Rachel genuinely say “guaranteed to make money” on mutual funds? Holy shit! You can’t say that! Yes, they go up generally over the long haul but depending on the exact timing there are LOTS of people who may lose money and you have NO IDEA what is coming down the pipeline. We are 100% in mutual funds but saying such a blanket guarantee is irresponsible and should be illegal. I can’t believe your team all decided that was okay to say. And this is why this is billed as financial entertainment and none of you accept actual liability for the advice you give. Been a fan for a long time but that was the reddest of flags

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $200k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.

Some of Rachel's things are a little cheap. Buying from Amazon versus the local merchant who you use is a sad choice. Supporting a billion dollar corporation versus the person right in front of you is a bad choice if you can afford the local option. Buying $15 necklaces is sad too. First because, who made that? Were they paid well? (of course not) What were the working conditions like? (bad of course) So why not buy a real necklace made of gold that will last you 20 years versus 2 months. My gold purchases a few years ago have actually been my best investment (uncommon situation, but the gold jewelry my Mom bought in Italy in the 80s has increased massively and she got to wear it daily for decades).
George, freeze some of your vegetables if you’re not going to finish them all before they go bad. Re-use the frozen portions in a soup/sauce or something else, later on.
"I don't do a lot of illegal things" Well, Rachael, what illegal things do you do? 🤔 🤣😂🤣😂
That's what I was thinking. She said, "I don't do a lot of illegal things." 😂
She said “sounds fun”😅 I knew she had a dark side lol
If she did anything illegal, Dave would find out and depending on what it was, get mad and fire her.
Rachel has likely done a bit of shop-lifting in her life. And she probably routinely rolls through Stop signs.
Well, she *did* say she brings "outside food or drink" into the movie theater. Such a rebel! 🤣
I really enjoy hearing the crew laughing in the background. Makes me laugh a little bit more. Please continue to keep this on the show! Thanks. Still working the snowball but I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I'm excited! Thanks again.

We need video footage of George skateboarding

My heated throw from Amazon is warm even when off. And it was only $25. That is NOT a good recommendation.
Dang! That was cool though!

Good. I would have zero credit cards too if I worked for Dave who would probably terminate me if he found out otherwise.
I can relate to No need for that99 man!!! I had an out of body experience getting a FREE facial at a new spa. They started offering me all the products used and my dumba** bought everything!!! I felt like I should because the service was free!! 350$ later 🤦🏼♀️
