I was new to Nashville, arriving on a Sunday afternoon. I parked in front of the studio of my new job .. grabbed my briefcase and started walking in. I turned at the sound of a pickup coming up the street .. it was Rodney Crowell .. he slowed, looked at me, smiled and waved .... my first celebrity to greet me here.
Reminds me of my husband and myself. We have listened to it so much i bought the cd we have snuggled together dancing together to this great song. It is so romantic .

So sorry. We are approaching 40 years soon and when I encounter a person who's been widowed I really get a new appreciation of having someone still here. Bless.
My wife and I truly lived out this song. We met at 12yrs old, dated off n on through high school. We always wanted to be together but we both were too stubborn and afraid to make that first big move with each other. 15yrs later, we both divorce from unhappy marriages. We got back together and it's like before we lost touch. Hearing this song, every time, it reminds of the last 30 years of our lives.

Gweneth Reed Rodney is the better songwriter overall but as a vocalist he couldn’t carry Roy’s guitar case and Rodney Crowell would tell you that himself.
Got to see him at Brauntex in New Braunfels, TX a couple of months ago and it was amazing! We were DEFINITELY a rare few of the RC fans in the crowd and every time he would start a new song, we, of course, would "ooh and ahh", while I feel the rest of the crowd around us were like "huh?" It was amazing. The next morning, he was leaving breakfast as we were walking in so I went and told him how lovely the show was (yes, I said lovely) and he responded so kind! SIDE NOTE: If you get the opportunity to see a show at Brauntex, I HIGHLY recommend it!!!!! Amazing acoustics!
Love this song. I was in love with a wonderful man, but things happened. We've both moved on, sort of. I still miss him and will always have a place in my heart for him.

Ok i love Rodney but he doesn't have a voice like Roy that would be Raul Malo of The Mavericks.
As if Roy Orbison could hold a candle to writing the songs Rodney has.
Gweneth Reed Rodney is the better songwriter overall but as a vocalist he couldn’t carry Roy’s guitar case and Rodney Crowell would tell you that himself.
Perfect description
I hadn’t heard this song in years and how nice to find it again,, this man really sang this from the heart,, it sure hit mine ,,,
Hello, how are you doing? Thanks for you love and support❤️❤
He wrote this song for Roseanne Cash after their breakup. He was crushed.
And let’s not forget how Rodney sings this song, feeling every word and we all feel them too.

Love this song. I was in love with a wonderful man, but things happened. We've both moved on, sort of. I still miss him and will always have a place in my heart for him.

After All This Time
Rodney Crowell
-
There were trains
And we out-run 'em
There were songs
And we out-sung 'em
There were brighter days never ending
There was time
And we were burnin'
There were rhymes
And we were learnin'
There was all the love
Two hearts could hold
And after all this time
You're always on my mind
Hey I could never let it end
'Cause my heart takes so long to mend
The dream that keeps your hopes alive
The lonely nights you hold inside
And after all this time
You're always on my mind
I still want you
There was rain
That we outlasted
There was pain
But we got past it
There were last goodbyes
Still left unspoken
There were ways
I should have thrilled you
There were days
I could have killed you
You're the only love
My life has known
And after all this time
You're always on my mind
Hey, I could never let you go
A broken heart that heals so slow
Could never beat for someone new
While you're alive and I am too
And after all this time
You're always on my mind
I still miss you
And I could never let it in
'Cause my heart takes so long to mend
The dream that keeps your hopes alive
The lonely nights you hold inside
And after all this time
You're always on my mind
I still want you
Hey, after all this time
You're always on my mind
I still love you

This song reminds me of my old boyfriend, he got killed in a motorcycle wreck in his early 20s, we dated all throughout high school. I think of him so often. Man, this song brings back his memory! He was my first love 💔

Mr. Crowell, you sir are an incredible song writer and singer. Your so down to earth with your songs and you bring out reality. I almost wish you were able to turn time back around and start all over again with many new songs.
Thank you very much for sharing your talent with those of us who appreciate it. God bless you sir.
❤ This man is a Totally Magic singer ❤ and he is SO Beautiful ❤ Love you 🌹🌹🌹 / Helene in Sweden ❤
He was sent here to bring out how hard it is to miss someone
One of Nashville's master songwriters gets it right on this one. The songs you truly remember are the ones that hit home every time. A truly adult hurting song, done simply with truth and directness. 25 years on, it still works, Debbie's still on my mind, and I do still miss and love her more than I ought to, after all this time.
Those words so true ❤❤
"Hey I could never let you go, a broken heart that heals so slow, could never beat for someone new, while you're alive and I am, too"💔 I feel that💔
It's killer, huh Tracy?
