- This is the rear quick relay valve that controls the rear service brakes. There is a modulator valve on each side of the quick relay valve. The exhaust of the quick relay valve was leaking air and ended up having to be replaced.
Hi Stephen, Thank You for your video! I learned so much from it. Just yesterday 7/24/2020, my 2016 Freightliner Cascadia had to be towed to Utah Freightliner from Layton, Utah because of this part. I am a trucker, though I was home yesterday, my boyfriend was gonna deliver the next day, when this part decided to stop working. He had sent me a picture of the part and I found your video!! I now learned about this ABS air brake valve and how it operates. Thank You again for this vital information, at least for me. Have and blessed and wonderful day!!

Great video im about to do the same exact repair i did already change my air drier filter was getting alot of water in tanks now its dry so im hoping to complete this by Thursday.

I find it's really Better to Push both the air line and outer locking tab in together until tab stops going inward, once touching hold the tab in best you can, then Brace yourself to pull the line out, I works pretty much everytime, I also purchase the 4 tool set for releasing air lines
When you change your oil run the engine a bit to get operating temperature and re tighten. I had the same thing happened with a lose filter.

First time that abs valve broke the cheap mechanic put a Chinese brand on it.

Thanks for your video! Question, can that abs air valve make your Truck and trailer abs light to stay on in the dash? When i turn the key on the lights stay on, sometimes will goes off but most of the time they stay on for few minutes of driving. Freightliner hadnt figure out the problem and we still working on it, we replace the abs computer and everything is checking out good, wear. Any advice will be apreciated. Thanks
Where th o rings go in the whole or on the round lip of the relay valve. Mine keeps breaking the ring and leaks air

Just FYI I have had a airbag leak around the can when it was old and hard, only when in a bind when parked on uneven ground but on level ground no problems
Many times air bag is leaking when you have a loaded trailer on. I watched this man 5 minutes and can not watch his unskilled mess any more :(
What year and model freightliner?
Did the code clear
Is that the modulator the one in the middle?
Easier way is to use an open end wrench that fits the hose to press against the quick release at least that’s how I do it
Genie lifts use colored ties for it hydraulic lines
My brake valve relay kept leaking when brake pedal wasn't pressed, was this similar situation?
Possibly an spring brake chamber but do not rule out an anti compound quick release valve ! 7/5/23

Question..how do you know if the part is not fixable,mine is leaking exactly at the same spot,when you put the new part do you need programming of some kind since is the abs or no?
