As amazing as one’s home country may be, going abroad will either enlighten you culturally, give you greater appreciation for your home country, or both.
It's one of the places I'll never go back to. Worst food, too many tourist traps, idiot car drivers and bicyclists, pricy for shitty things, activities, everything. Sucks.
How kind…the nature of Amsterdam will guarantee it is a hot tourist spot, and that’s NOT because of the Red Light District and because Cannabis is legalized there. There is talk about banning legal cannabis to tourists and removing the Red Light District, and that won’t change a thing. Amsterdam will be a hot tourist spot forever due to the cities age, beauty, architecture, history, art, etc. Unless the Netherlands decides to ban tourism completely, this will never change. Be grateful you have access to a city like Amsterdam that the world wants to see and experience. Amsterdam is truly special, and telling people “Don’t come here” is incredibly disgraceful. Good thing most Dutch I have met in NL the 10 times I have been were quite the opposite of the attitude you have.
I'd love too. Here the reasons. Cold, I love it and it reasonably warmer than in Russia, where I come from. I love cycling. Well, driver Les not better in Russia

Going to London for our 10yr anniversary in a few months. Planning on spending a few days in Amsterdam as well. Cannot wait!!!!
See you soon 😂🎉
3 time’s a charm. Every trip brought another look and at the end a pleasant familiarity…each time a side trip to Raalte’s Ribfest.
LOVE IT !!!
Thank you

Found the place dirty and quite underwhelming
dont no where you went but everywhere in the netherlands is clean
We don't see things as they are; we see them as we are.
The Netherlands is not clean especially coming from Denmark.

Stay at home then lol
Westerkirk is neither renaissance nor gothic.
Looks kind of boring...
“Is” and “Looks” are vastly different. Visit for yourself!

I really want to be a citizen of your country.
Why? Shit food, everything is pricy, too many bikes, terrible drivers, too fucking cold in winter, and more...
