I was going to do this until I found a handled hot cut at a barn sale last fall. I think I am going to make a hammer eye punch with it now. Oh my gosh, that shear!
I forgot to mention the top side/corner chamfer, from head to cutting edge. I think you stopped filming short of that work being done. It looks fantastic with very consistent detail.
Looks good, awesome job. It is definitely up for the task. It's possible I missed something but what type of wood did you use for the handle? Thanks......
Nothing better than reforging old tools into what you want
GREAT SAVE, I AM SURE IT WILL WORK WELL FOR YOU
Right on SSIW !! And awesome work, once again. I'm going to attempt the same idea, but a straight peen from a 3lb sledge head.
Keep up the good work.

I didn't film me cutting the struck end, and the footage didn't turn out from the grinding unfortunately

Sorry I forgot to mention the handle but I made it from some kiln dried hickory.
Believe you said only heat treatment the tip Believe it's quenching then the heat treatment to tuffen the tip.
But that tip will get hot in use
I may have forgot to mention it but I quenched and then tempered directly after the quench its just hard for me to film.
