Really enjoyed the Oldhammer battle report. I wanted to let you know that your effort and hard work is very much appreciated. Hope to see more in the future!
"And Jim, possessing the ability to moisten his eyeballs with his own tongue, would control the lizards" Banter similar to the older WD battle reports. Also gotta love the mesoamerican pattern you managed to paint on the skinks bag at 6:00
Isn't he incredible! I got him as part of a lot and basically just touched him up. He was originally going to be green, but I couldn't bring myself to strip the amazing original paint job. I'd love to find out who painted him some day.
I love everything in your video. The memories it brings back The narratives the looks The paint job the falling models while you move them The french accent (i'm french btw) the green skink in the red unit many thanks.
Another brilliant video, one of the best yet and fantastic production value, a great step forward! I only stumbled across your channel a few days ago and have massively appreciated the content. Keep up the great work and I hope you are able to start pushing out more regular content as I’m sure you will be able to grow at a swift rate. Keep up the great work!
Perhaps next battle, the Bretonnions could pursue the Lizardmen into the jungle, only to realize they've been ambushed. Like the Lizardmen are deployed on either flank while the Bretonnions are in the center. Or the deployment is as normal, but some kind of dangerous terrain (swamp water, spiked pit traps, etc) lay between them, ready to stymie the knights.
5th ed Battles Book has a nice campaign system. The themed terrain generation tables are great too. With your story telling skills I’m sure you’d weath a fantastic narrative from a fee randomly selected scenarios turned into a campaign.
Thank you so much for posting both this video, and also the video last week! (about the ''how to play'' leaflet from the box set). UA-cam is MASSIVLY acking n 5th edition content... So Great too see some 5th Edition content at last!!!
well never did that but have all the minis and the slan i did i blig him out with aztek stuff i got micels got him in a model magzen but do have a copy of it one day i find it see as do new vid
Hi. WFB 3rd player here, question for you. With the scaly devils that charge the archer wedge, how do they kill 3 archers when they are only in B2B contact with 1 of them? A bit later the wedge is charged and the lizard leader again kills more people than he is in B2B with, is that how 5th edition works?
So it probably wasn't the best idea to try to learn 5th edition rules with the awkward Bretonnians! But, It think we got it right. For the arrowhead formation, my understanding of the rules is the the whole width of of the unit counts as frontage, so they are "touching" even if they are not. My other understanding is that models in B2B are the ones that can fight, but anyone can be killed. I couldn't tell you a page reference for that rule though, so it may be an incorrect assumption! I'll look it up this evening and let you know.
In 5th edition, do troops in combat suffer panic tests? By 7th edition they only took break tests if they lost combat. Great video, by the way, and well done on beautiful paint jobs.
I was pretty sure they did, and that was how a bad panic test could break a line, but that might have been an assumption that was wrong. I'll check this evening and let you know. This is great, free feedback so I can learn the rules better!
Ehm, excuse me ... *pushing glasses up*, but you mention that the Quatl of Tlaxtlan wears a Shield AND the Armour of Meteoric Iron, however, the Armour of Meteoric Iron "includes a shield". An egregious error if you ask me. Otherwise, awesome video! ;)
Yes it does, you're right! But more importantly, now that I have had my first "well actually" comment I can say that I've made it as a Warhammer UA-camr! I owe you one!
I would like too see a normal pitch battle, Bretonnia, everything from the box set, PLUS 750 points to spend how you like. V's Lizardmen, evertyhing from the 5th edition box set, PLUS 750 points to spend how you like. (I am not sure if both sides, have an even amount of points, from the models of the box sets? But if one side has Less points, from the models from the box set... then they are allowed more points, until its an even amount.)
ideally it would be nice to see each side with a maiin character, (only IF there is enough points, and the army list is still legal, i.e under the 50% or so allowed for characters, or whatever it is). Maybe see Lord Kroak vs Leon, or another special character.... if that is even possible
Great ideas! Some of them would definitly need a bit of eBaying to get the forces together. I do have a box of grail knights, a slann and a lot more skinks and saurus in my spares box.
Firstly, excellent video Mick and beautiful paitning mate. Secondly, thank you for not using movement trays as this is how Warhammer should be played in video presentations. Not made it to the end as yet but my Gold coins are on the wet backed slimey bastards winning this one lol

The only battle report I've actually enjoyed. I was ready to lose hope; so thank you!

Ooooh! I think there might be rules for something like that in the battle book
Loved it. As a lizardmen player this is where I started. Happy to be returning now
This so awesome mate!!!
Cardstock buildings forever. I love them.
They are the best. Non cardstock buildings are not scenery, they are just models in disguise.

Too kind! Thanks for all the support. I've been eyeing up doing, maybe, a thousand point battle with the forces from the battle book.
Wow, one heck a special ability for Jim.
It gives him an unfair advantage
Well that was wonderful! Terrific commentary and those miniatures are just stunning. That was a very enjoyable way for me to spend my lunch break.
High praise from the master of the art form!
I really enjoyed this! Please give us more 🙏
Thanks a lot! I'm working on it!

Brilliant stuff. Love to see a hand of Ulster on heraldry! 😅

5th is easily my favourite edition. Snug in the middle between the bright herohammer of forth and the grim and grimy sixth.
Wonderfully done Mick, one of the best bat reps ive ever come across ... i hope Guy Bowman the bretonian bowman got away! 😆
He definitely did! I made sure of it!
Lovely work on this dude! And those minis are painted beautifully!

What are you using for the basing? just sand or some thing else?
It's just sand. Painted Loren Forest and highlighted with Ogryn Camo. I use that for all of my 5th edition armies

As far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as movement trays! It certainly made the whole process a lot more difficult for myself!
This wasn't a batrep, this was a display board. Unfortunate.
