Damn, I never really knew them. I am big SRV fan. They are really good and make Stevie and Double Trouble real proud with their own twist. Such awesome music, soul, playing and energy. It really makes me smile I hear a lot of tribute to Stevie. Awesome job keeping this sound and brilliant music alive.
I got lucky and stumbled on to their first album at a local record store in Texas and was just floored it’s such a great album…then when I seen they were coming to the United States I knew there was no way I was gonna miss seeing them they were incredible to say the least…I spent about 20 minutes after the show outside talking with Jess…what a cool young dude he was..The Hoax rock on forever ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼
Thanks so much for this video. I became a fan of this band the same week that they released their first CD in the US...Sound Like This. Then I saw The Hoax live when they came to America, I think it was their only US tour. Saw them at the short-lived Mick Fleetwood's in DC. What an absolutely GREAT show and what a fantastic band. What MONSTER sound...and of course the SRV tones!!
I am getting into this band- 10 years too late ! They really are good. Thank you for putting the whole gig on YT. All great musicians, but Jesse is brilliant!
i guess im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the login password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Braylen Dylan thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Seen these guys many times. The first time they were too young to grow hair on their chins , and Jons suits were..er...interesting. Always fun and entertaining
There's a live DVD from 2010 called "A Blues Odyssey" and a live album called "Live Forever" (can't remember the year). There was also a VHS (!) from the late 90's that had mostly live tracks as I recall.
@@afmac1804 Thanks for turning me on to Red Devils and yes their guitar player is obviously an SRV disciple but has his own identity. The Hoax are kind of offensive the way the guitarist just plays SRV licks in all the wrong places. The result is this kind of soul-less something missing vibe. The Brits don't seem to get it and lap it up whereas I don't think the Yanks were fooled. Perhaps I'm being super critical and it is only my opinion but I'm sure you understand. Thanks again. It's a pity Red Devils weren't bigger at the time, they were pre Blues boom.
Respect your opinion, but wholeheartedly disagree. Stevie would LOVE The Hoax if he were still around. Every majorly popular blues guitarist has stolen licks from their idols and Stevie was quite open about his influences and taking licks for his own.
This band brought exciting blues to the young and older alike in.the 90's..their live shows were pure adrenaline fuelled
The Magnificent HOAX 🎤🎸🎸👏👏👏
Saw them play a few times…world class!
Saw them in 1999 and couldn’t hear a thing for four days. It was great!

Used to go see this band along long time ago, absolutely brilliant, one of the best bands i,ve ever seen.
I honestly don't understand why this has only 4000 views?
Thank you so much for posting this concert... I discovered them 24 years ago... I still listen to them on my old cassette...
should have been soooo much bigger....
I've often said that about my willy....
Every performance so energised and improvised , Hugh fronting this superb blues band while the guitars tear it up !!
I was there. A great moment. I became immediatly fan and went twice to Weert after to see this band again.
Thanks to have posted the full concert.
Супергруппа!
Holy shit - what a great band!!! I discovered them too late as well - but glad I did !!!!
36mins in and the three are all playing Jesse's guitar 🎸🎸🎸🎸

My claim to fame we had a small .usic festival in midsomer Norton at the rugby club . They put on a great show there .
Most bands are lucky if they have one awesome guitar player…not The Hoax they’ve got two…..hell ya 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

SRV clone band, can’t hear anything else except The guy playing Stevie licks
And wanted big time to be the next Red Devils whose great guitarist was an SRV disciple.
