I have since stopped using this setup, due to a regulator failure that lead to a 3rd stage head explosion. The compressor was damaged, but not destroyed. The accident occurred when an o2 supply tank was nearly empty and the regulator free flowed, causing a sudden spike in o2 concentration being supplied to the compressor. The final stage head exploded. Nobody was hurt and the compressor has since been repaired, but it left me a little more cautious. In hind sight, having a higher quality regulator, in addition to a device to shut down the solenoids at high o2 concentration would have prevented that situation.
The golf balls for mixing the gases is a brilliant idea! Thanks! They are only held by the two metal sticks going through the pipe? I will build similar :)
Hey, i am interested in making a high temperature gas analyzer (~300C) to check for harmful gas emission from "Chula" in rural India as a social pro bono project. Carbon monoxide is what i primarily want to detect, and i wish to avoid cross detection? would it be possible to do this?
The best method of using a compressor to scavenge a leftover mix is to use a bag on the intake of the compressor. We have used a lift bag with great success. The key is to have the lift bag mostly inflated, so that the compressor always has something to draw in.

Thanks for sharing this !
I like the golf ball touch.

What percentage of trimix can you achieve with this setup?

Most of these are vertically mounted. Could it be used horizontally?
Can you give information on the make and model of the solenoids and where to get them? Thanks
Hi. These solenoids are asco. They are widely available. You can get them on ebay.
Can you show a video of scavenging leftover mix to re compress?
