I have a thoery was that, it was proven that the egg controlled people by giving them what they want, and to quote jack “how do you control someone who has everything he wants?” You don’t, and they couldn’t, so either their gonna kill him or hurt tubbo cause the discs are hidden but tubbo is very much not.

Tommy's supposed to be dead, and the egg doesn't like people changing the past/future. Which is why Karl loses his memory each time, why Tommy is immune to the egg along with why the egg wants Tommy to die so much. It also connects onto why Tubbo cries each time he's near. I think it's pretty cool but at the same time it might be just because Tommy already have everything he wants (Disc, Tubbo, Dream in jail) while others want power which is what the egg can give. If that's the case i still won't understand why Tubbo cries near it. Personally like theory 1 better but idk we'll see
