I'm in the Loire Valley in France visiting my family. In this video we visit the chateau at Brézé and explore the network of tunnels and caves beneath it, then head to Saumur to have crepes for lunch, before heading back to my Mum's along the banks of the Loire and Vienne rivers. Brézé is a must see if you're in that part of the Loire Valley. Not only is the chateau itself beautiful (no filming or photography allowed inside unfortunately, but it's spectacular), but the network of tunnels and caves, including some troglodyte dwellings, the deep dry moat, and the caves in the edges of the moat are completely unique. Apparently it is estimated that there's still around 4km of tunnels and caves that haven't be explored and excavated yet. Can't wait to visit again in the future and see what they find!

I love Brézé, the tunnels and caves are astonishing. I think they must have opened even more to the public since our last visit. The troglodytes certainly did well for wine! And the bakery is amazing.

Brézé is just incredible. I'll never forget the first time we went and stood on the bridge looking down into that unexpected deep dry moat! What a fantastic surprise.
