My dad an force veteran and I were at the Rodeo on the Fourth of July a couple of years ago. He’s in a wheel chair and had his veterans hat on. At the end he needed to us the restroom. There’s was a very long line, he said under his breath oh no, we went to the back of the line, the gentleman in the rear looked at my dad and said in a load voice we have a veteran here, every man in that line all the way to the urinal moved aside. I learned that night that there are a lot of honorable men in this country. God bless our veterans.
Good Americans weren't that respectful back in the late 1960s and '70's. Terrible percentage followed Jane Fonda's lead and would most likely have p!ssed on your dad.

We do OWE THE MILITARY EVERYTHING. I was in Hawaii, Oahu, Waikiki Beach on 9/11 on the first Anniversary and I was able to see the full Military Parades from every division, and they carried a replica of the Twin Towers that day down that street. It hit me so hard to see all those Young people making the ultimate sacrifice, so I had the ability to sit on the street in front of the Sheraton Princess Kauilani, as a free citizen!!! I thank all military every chance I get. We need more Patriots now more than ever, and we need more Americans like Toby Keith willing to stand up and represent us all!

My son is serving and he deploys this month for a year ... Leaving behind 2 young daughters 7 and soon to be 5.... With love I say I am glad he is serving no matter what happens and to all military families know we are family no matter the branch.... He missed being in the Navy seals by two points so they made him the boss over the entire diving team and was the ship welder but he always wanted to die for this country. He reunited after 911. He was faithful to his country but not to woman but we remained friends for I respected him and always will but hes in heaven now with my son.Very good father to my son even though he was a step dad he taught my son alot. Miss being around my ex-husband I admired his Beverly and dedication to the Navy especially after 911.

Thank you for sharing! My grandpa serviced in world war 2. With Patton they freed a concentration camp! He only talked one time to me when he had to for a high school grade! What he told me happened I told my teacher I would take a F! God Bless you Grandpa, General Patton, and our men that helped our Country! All our Soldiers are Heroes!
My daddy always said men who talk about it was not there, meaning that the men who were there do not talk about it, sad to say he passed away in 1994 in a VA hospital of all places. he always said you never go to a VA hospital except to die. He went because his dr. practiced there. He never talked about being in the Pacific
My dad was in Korea in the Army. He has never talked about his time there. He told me about before going over but his time in combat he will not talk about. The real soldiers hardly ever talk about there time in combat because it brings back bad memories.
My dad served on a crash boat in the Philippines at the end of WW2. I didn't understand what that meant until after he died at the age of 83. When I heard the history of the Philippines during the war and that crash boats had gone after the surviving crew of the USS Independence, I finally understood what my father went through, and why he was always so depressed and reclusive.
I have never heard of Toby Keith before but seeing how much respect this man has for the people that fought in the war, has made me fall in love with him...women from England here that loves country.

My Dad served in the Army during the Vietnam War as an enlisted man, got his draft notice and said he went to the recruiter's office the next day and enlisted. He was lucky to be given advice from a friend's Dad who was an officer in the Army to put Korea (South obviously) down for his hardship tourand that's where he got sent. I know he was and is proud to have served his country but he doesn't like showing it. He knows people from his high school class (a small ass town in Wisconsin) that made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam and I almost think he feels slightly guilty of that. I remember at one of my high school's football games they honored the veterans since it fell on Veteran's Day or the day after and it took a ton of encouragement from my Mom and myself to get him to stand. I've never known quite how to say it to him, but Thanks Dad for giving up those 4 years to do your duty! Videos like this brings tears to my eyes knowing what my Dad doesn't like to tell and he should not feel guilty about the fact so many people lost their lives and he made it through that time due to advice he recieved.

Thank you for sharing! My grandpa serviced in world war 2. With Patton they freed a concentration camp! He only talked one time to me when he had to for a high school grade! What he told me happened I told my teacher I would take a F! God Bless you Grandpa, General Patton, and our men that helped our Country! All our Soldiers are Heroes!
My daddy always said men who talk about it was not there, meaning that the men who were there do not talk about it, sad to say he passed away in 1994 in a VA hospital of all places. he always said you never go to a VA hospital except to die. He went because his dr. practiced there. He never talked about being in the Pacific
My dad was in Korea in the Army. He has never talked about his time there. He told me about before going over but his time in combat he will not talk about. The real soldiers hardly ever talk about there time in combat because it brings back bad memories.
My Grandfather served in ww2 in the Philippines. A Hero till.
My dad served on a crash boat in the Philippines at the end of WW2. I didn't understand what that meant until after he died at the age of 83. When I heard the history of the Philippines during the war and that crash boats had gone after the surviving crew of the USS Independence, I finally understood what my father went through, and why he was always so depressed and reclusive.

My Dad served in the Army during the Vietnam War as an enlisted man, got his draft notice and said he went to the recruiter's office the next day and enlisted. He was lucky to be given advice from a friend's Dad who was an officer in the Army to put Korea (South obviously) down for his hardship tourand that's where he got sent. I know he was and is proud to have served his country but he doesn't like showing it. He knows people from his high school class (a small ass town in Wisconsin) that made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam and I almost think he feels slightly guilty of that. I remember at one of my high school's football games they honored the veterans since it fell on Veteran's Day or the day after and it took a ton of encouragement from my Mom and myself to get him to stand. I've never known quite how to say it to him, but Thanks Dad for giving up those 4 years to do your duty! Videos like this brings tears to my eyes knowing what my Dad doesn't like to tell and he should not feel guilty about the fact so many people lost their lives and he made it through that time due to advice he recieved.
He gave 4 years to the USA, not going to Vietnam does not diminish the fact he served during a war.
