To be the best, you have to drive the best and the Team Losi Racing® 8IGHT platform is second to none. With multiple ROAR national titles and major international wins, the 8IGHT represents a championship- winning heritage. The original 8IGHT took 1/8th -scale racing by storm and now the future of racing is hitting the track―the 8IGHT-X 1/8 Nitro Buggy. This is a brand new, completely redefined racing platform crafted from the ground up. Designed to be the best of all possible worlds for drivers, it features a new wider chassis, potent drivetrain, and major updates to the suspension package and geometry. Team Losi Racing continues to push the envelope of performance with the 8IGHT-X Buggy.
Improved Suspension Geometry:
The 8IGHT-X Next Gen suspension geometry has been completely revamped making a car that is fast, nimble, and easy to drive. This includes a myriad of updates including kingpin inclination, trailing spindles, wider front pivot with less scrub radius, narrower rear pivot, longer rear shocks, and updated hub offset.
Suspension Arms:
All new suspension arms have been designed to accept stiffener plates that will allow racers to tune the flex of the suspension. The kit will include molded plates with optional carbon fiber plates available separately.
Wide Chassis:
Chassis width has been increased to aid in stability and gives the buggy a more neutral feel.
Larger Pinion Bearing:
The pinion bearing size in the front and rear has been increased for added durability.
Cab Forward Style Body:
Cab forward design helps with overall down force, which improves steering and overall stability.
Chassis Side Guards:
New chassis side guards that have an improved fit onto the chassis.
Large Footprint Engine Mount:
Lightweight large footprint engine mount that reduces flex underneath the engine to eliminate chassis fatigue on high traction race surfaces.
Adjustable Castor Blocks:
20 degree castor blocks allow the height of the spindle to be adjusted.
Bleeder Shock Caps:
Machined aluminum shock caps with threaded bleeder holes for easy and consistent bleeding of oil.
Chassis Balance:
The weight has been moved forward in the chassis to provide a better driving balance to the vehicle.
Steering Rack:
Redesigned steering rack allows more ackerman adjustments and an improved servo saver eliminates bellcrank bind during high loads.
Shock Towers:
The redesigned machined 7075-T6 aluminum shock towers feature updated camber link holes as well as a taller rear tower.
Better Diff Access:
The front and rear diff case has been altered to allow easier access to the differentials without removing the bulkheads from the vehicle. The center diff can be accessed via split center diff mounts with the removal of only four screws allowing all of the brake mechanics to stay intact.
Sway Bar System:
New sway bar system has adjustable length links to allow better equalization of each side of sway bar as well as collars to keep the sway bars centered.
Equalized driveline:
The center drive shaft angles have been modified so they are equal front to rear allowing for a more 4WD feel to the vehicle.
Updated Radio Tray:
An updated radio tray now puts the throttle servo near the engine to eliminate additional linkage. The updated radio tray will ensure the throttle servo is rigidly mounted to avoid any flex by floating the servo off of the center differential.
Optimized Shocks:
The shocks are optimized and lightened to decrease the center of gravity and lower the weight of the car as well as offer the use of both 3.5mm and 4.0mm shock shafts
Metric Hardware:
The 8IGHT-X will move away from standard hardware and be on par with all other manufacturers with metric hardware.
FEATURES:
- Improved suspension geometry
- Wider chassis
- 20˚ caster blocks with adjustable spindle height
- Aluminum shock caps with threaded bleeder holes

Excellent work! Glad I waited for this! Just built the 8T 4.0 Truggy kit and it was a blast and was going to build the buggy kit next! So happy that TLR is still innovating the nitro aspect of the hobby! I really like the changes that were made! Bravo! BTW we need aluminum Chassis braces for the 8ight-T 4.0 nitro Truggy kit!
Looks like TLR once again did a wonderful job with there NITRO race Kit 🤝💥👍💥! I really can’t wait for the TRUGGY but I will also have to get the Buggy . I will want to run a LiFe battery in mine because No more Lipos for me. The X Buggy really looks great 👍 almost like X rated 👅👅👅🤤🤤🤤 lol 😂 like Super Zeeeeeaah!!!! Can’t wait for mine to get to my LHS Track Day Hobbies in Long Island N.Y. So I can take a closer look . Keep up the great work and thank you for coming out with a New Good quality Nitro RC!!!! Love that !!! I don’t do E- Words anymore!!! Please come out with a new Gas ⛽️ powered RC Next !! 👍💥👊⛽️🤝
How old are you?
What type of motor/size would you put on this buggy?
Ulm Wurttemberg I know he’s a full grown adult to say the least
@@ulmwurttemberg1682 yeah, this guy does not use the E word anymore... LMAO!
What a douchebag, its a full grown adult in denial. He sure does not know what he is missing. I fly glow rc planes, few nitro buggies, gas 1/5 scale but also have electric, this is no vendetta to dethrone or decomission nitro rc.
@@ulmwurttemberg1682 hes in his 70s
Wish you the best of luck with this buggy . It looks real nice and finally metric hardware on losi 1/8 buggy .. Now let's see the electric version of this 8ight-x and your in business.
TLR makes the best quality race kits. Finally using metric hardware, had to start at some point and why not with the X.
xXG.L.HXx No, they don't. Mugen, XRAY, Serpent, Kyosho are the best when it comes to quality.
Cardiak Tlr probably makes the best kits . I think kyosho is the only close competitor but they are a ridiculous 950$ for a kit .
Plot Dot The ones I mentioned above a far better quality. And Also, Hotbodies. TLR kits sometimes don't come with the necessary parts and tolerances are sometimes off and then they have chassis slop. According to this video, they fixed that issue.
I love this car. Was disappointed on 8ight 4.0 but now WoW. You really make me spend my whole budget and I will be in bankruptcy in the end. LOL. Anyway you guys did great job. Thank you.
This is definitely a buy!
I cant wait for it. Gimme two . Now. Immediatly
Great review yet again my friend, 😊😁😊
Very good improvement. Great video. One question: shocks are longer, how long are they F/R?
looks super dope! i´m in.
I cannot wait to see the 8tx
I got the 8IGHT RTR. Very happy with it. As I progress and am looking into a kit... can’t decide what to go. Kyosho or 8IGHT X??
damn! everytime i buy a kit..2 months later ..something new comes out! WHY ME ?..lol
awesome set up! especially the new throttle servo linkage..NICE !
Roy Mariano buy newly released kits and it shouldn't be a problem.
Fantastic.
Awesome buggy but the question I have is when is the new truggy coming out? Don't get me wrong the buggy is cool but I'm into the truggy myself
Great job TLR!
When is the Truggy coming?
Amazing.
I've always been an xray fan an have had from the xb8 till now but this is something I believe I could or would make a switch to
Now this is some BRAAAAAPTASTIC sh**t lol...but like my gas brotha botajell I want to see the TRUGGY version...either way I let go of my super baja rey for a 5t...why not do a horizon hobby 4 link vekta style truck! Can't wait to see this truck local the track I go too⛽💣💥💨
When the hell is the NITRO X TRUGGY Coming out??? You should have at least kept the TLR 4.0 8T going until the X Truggy was ready why the hell did they discontinue it ? I think TLR should hook up with some other company since horizon hobbies can’t do the right thing
Amen !!!!!
I can dig it!!!
Great news guys so happy things are happening with Nitro power
Richard Gordon ZEEEEEAAH 💥🤝💥👊💥💥💨💨💨👏! Can’t wait for the Truggy Richie!! 🚀✈️😜💥ANY ?’s
I like this buggy,is there a chance in the future we will see a 8x L8ight model?
I noticed how centered that throttle and brake.I can see they listened to the customer.
What kind of engine u have in there if u don’t mind me asking
Workhorse buggy. There is good reason the losi is the most popular buggy at the club level.
Very nice! But just one thing, finer threads on the shock bodies for finer adjustments, what? Any pitch threads can infinitely make any ride height adjustment necessary! Yes, a higher pitch count means that a full turn is less of a change, but were back to the infinitely adjustable shock collars of any pitch!? So pitch does not matter people! Sorry for the rant, buggy looks good!
Very nice looking buggy! Cant wait to see the E-buggy!
Will there be a electric version?
Any Key parts that can be upgraded on the 2.0 to make it a bit more modern..?? Or that would help performance or easy to service..
Looks good, I’m not a nitro guy though, but nice rig!
What's your favorite? I'm looking to get a my son a Revo 1/16
Wish you hadn't kept the same Differentials... everything else looks super! Send me one to test!!!!! lol
take my money!!!!, when is going to be available?
good your video
Why do you have a silver reverse thread screw on the right lower shock
When is the new E versions coming out ? 5.0 ?
take my money , take my money , hell yah
What is needed to convert 8ight-X nitro to electric XE? Cheers
trouble with losi/horizon is they make good models, to which i have a bit of a collection , but only make anything for a very limited time and we are left with models to which drop massively in value as parts are rare as hens teeth ie muggy, desert buggy, speed t, mtxl
Does this come RTR , are do you have to build it
Are we going to see an 8ight-t X or 8ight-t X elite??
What’s the best nitro engine you can buy for this Nitro ?????
Really finally TLR thinking in world consumers Finally METRIC! Now I go to buy TLR products.
When will it be out?
Metric system is the best way for measurement anyway 😉
No carbon shock towers?
Is it true that since this video was released that the front suspension has been completely re-designed? Hearing it has Kyosho style C-hub front end now.
Well, a number of vehicles use what I would call a similar front end. What I mean by similar is that the pin location of the outer hinge pin is outside of the steering kingpin swivel. The reason for the change which has been very costly and time consuming is that we wanted a car that you could be on the radio steering wheel more, that has been our goal the whole time. Well we had that with the first front end for the 8X most of the time. We found that there were instances that we just wanted a longer arm and different scrub and so we tested this and it was far better we felt. So we spent the time and money to make the car better before even waiting for a version 2 of the car. We are committed to providing the best car out there and the longer arm and different scrub was better than what we had. The front end is not the same as any other vehicle out there, it is our front end, but sure it can look close to others.
I think it will be a good change. I've always liked the feel of the Kyosho type front end over the older Losi style C-hub. Looking forward to the e version coming out so I can give it a try.
Does the buggy come fully equipped in the box 📦?
Robert Ramos no of course not, it’s a kit mate
Can you use the current battery from the 4.0?
Sorry, no, it does not fit.
Bunch of jerks! Back to 2.0 with a wider chassis like Kyosho. This is a revolution!!!
Bring back the micros
Can we see it in action smh action speaks louder then words ijs
I like 4.0 buggy
Im in the market for a new nitro truggy. But I feel the 8T 4.0 is outdated. Where is the new Truggy-X??
Wow
Any info on "X-e" i kinda want to get electric buggy ;]
I'm waiting on it too hahha
i am struggeling so hard rn. waiting for the X-e or getting a mbx8eco. also a AE rc8b3.2 should be right around the corner.
I have the MBX8 Eco and Love it...Fast and Stable and runs like a beast!! But waiting for this to be released also as I want it and maybe try for the electric! So Hard to decide
I got the mbx8 eco 3 weeks ago. cannot complain at all ^^
Ye. ive ended up with it too xD But quick question do you use grease on diff main gears? I was very suprised that manual didnt advise it.
Relase date please
do i nned to buy the 500€ Spektrum DX6R 6CH Smart Radio w WIFI/BT
or can i buy a cheaper one?
Honestly, any two channel radio will operate a 1/8 nitro buggy.
@@HorizonHobbyProducts thanks for the answer, but is every Radio compatible with the "needed to complete" stuff ?
Sparrowio yes
That diff access on any brushless versions yet ?
Taking notes from Tekno I see
Lol
I like how they are trying to make changes for the better on an ongoing chassis for more than a decade now. But I laugh at the way he's explaining how the middle diff can just come right out in your hand like the servo is Wireless or something. I do know there are servos that the wire disconnects at the servo body but not every one of us runs $200 servos.
Everyone raceing tekno in the Midwest
It’s very beautiful, but I like Kyosho more. IMO
What the...
이한음 hahaha
Finally metric screws
Entirely metric and using a .050 allen. Lol
Look its an AMERICAN KYOSHO
This CHINESE made car is about only 30€ below the European made XRAY by the world's finest German machines and approx. 50 to 80€ below the JAPANESE made Kyosho by some of the world's best machines as well. Are you kidding? That's typical Horizon Hobby ... HAHAHAHAHA
At the Worlds it already had proven that it s*cks again. I'm not an AE guy but TLR is half the quality and twice the price of AE, also Chinese made but AE has no problem with reality.
If you dont know nothing about tlr car stop talking and taKe kyosho but dont forget to buy many front arm ,,😂😂😂
