The shoulder roll is easy to use. Im pretty bad at boxing, and even I can use it successfully. It's just that when you use it you very clearly look like a Mayweather imitater
To use the shoulder roll, the boxer needs to do a hitman stance. One weakness is a chopping right hand who lunges in or a mean right hook to the body. This has been seen with Floyd vs Maidana and Wilder vs Fury. Tyson Fury who stands at 6’9 has a 85 in reach or 7’1 wingspan. Wilder who is 6’7 with a 6’11 wingspan made it possible to hit a chopping right hand because he too has a long reach. Now Floyd who stands at 5’8, has a long reach of a man who stands at 6’0 or 72 inch reach. So before you could lunge in, with his long reach, he’d destroy your momentum with a long jab or with his developed reflex, he can set you up with a right straight or pull counter once he dictated the pace with his jab. Floyd’s hands are long enough to cover body shots even with a normal high guard. So Not everyone can use it the way Floyd use it. Not everyone is gifted with a long reach and not everyone has developed an elite reflex like Floyd.
