    I’ve recently been trying out the King's Indian Defense (KID) without properly studying the theory. So, I was looking through UA-cam videos, and among the countless ones I found, this video explained the complex and extensive theory in the clearest way. It’s truly a great and helpful video.
    By the way, in the King's Indian Defense Normal Variation, if my opponent exchanges queens with dxe5 followed by Qxd8 and then attacks with ideas like Bg5 and Nd5, what would be the best way to respond

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  5 днів тому +1

      Oh thank you for that I appreciate that! And good question.
      So against 9. Qxd8 we play 9. ...Nxd8 (much better than taking with rook) and if 10. Nd5 Ne6 and if 10. Bg5 Ne6 - hope this helps!

    • @iq6612
      @iq6612 5 днів тому +1

      I mean...
      35:26
      This situation rook recaptures queen, and if white don't Nxe5, but Bg5 and after h6 Bxf6 Bxf6 Nd5, isn't black is in big trouble?

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  5 днів тому +2

      @@iq6612 Ah I see! Ya so against 9. Bg5 in that line we can go with 9. ...Be6 OR 9. ...Re8 OR 9. ...c6. The one nice thing about 9. ...Re8 is that it makes the game simple meaning that e5 is directly defended. If 10. Nb5 we got 10. ... Na6, and if 10. Bxf6 Bxf6 11. Nd5 we have 11. ...Bd8 and black there has the advantage according to engine.
      Let me know your thoughts on this!
      Thanks,
      Solomon

      @ It's one of the best responses against the Petrov Defense. In the current meta overwhelmed by Stafford Gambit aficionados, the Modern Attack is forcing and immediately takes those types of players out of their comfort zone. Left unchecked, White can destroy the opponent.

    I have played King’s Indian before and always got crushed with a king-side attack. I will try again with some of these varients!!

    • @TheChessGiant
      @TheChessGiant  5 днів тому +4

      Hey Rob! Ya the kingside attacks can be brutal, but with great play in the KID you can win a lot of games by memorizing top lines and learning common mistakes from white - of course, the King's Indian Defense is like the Sicilian Defense - the studies never end 😂

    Plz cover all the lines of the petrov defense in the classical variation cover Bd6 line not the Nc6 line and the modern attack there are somebrancges so cover all of them as they can take sometimes with the pawn not with Knight and in the nimzowitsch variation also cover what to do if they develop the white bishop in b5 or in any other square early and the cozio attack give some attacking ideas for black as it many times leads to draw and what to do if they play bishop e3 before queen trade and also early Bc4 as there is one gambit and plus cover the main line of it, cover the cochrane gambit
    Plzzzzz make a video in this, also include traps in this video

    I’m so glad you’re back !
    And with this opening that I study for a few months now. It’s a new gift.
    I thought about you earlier today : the most famous french chess youtuber made a video about the hippo (he calls it the Ruiz) and he explains how amazing it is. You just have to play with patience, which is not his style. A lot of fun ua-cam.com/video/OwU_TY1Q0x4/v-deo.htmlsi=FOLhXfSLnPl6t_gm

    GM Wahls brought out a Anti Kings Indian Course a few days ago which goes over the sidelines only and why is white winning there. Its over 2500 lines. So I guess the KIA cant be played anymore lol

    • @9999_IQ_Carrot
      @9999_IQ_Carrot 5 днів тому +3

      It can still be played against human players. No one can memorize 2500 lines. Also, in timed games, people make a lot of mistakes, yet in long games, you have all the time you need to figure out refutations or transpositions to escape the theory.
